2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 DougieFresh (4) - New Jersey, USA - APR 15, 2011 does not count
When you pay more you expect more. This is one of the flagship beers from a nearby brewery. Uneventful aroma, appearance and palatte are o.k. if the taste is good. That is not what happens here. In fact, this beer used to be much better a few years ago but is now a thin-tasting, watery suds with a chalky tasting fruit combination. Overall, disappointed.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bhensonb (8997) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 22, 2011
Botttle from Oak Tree. Pours orange amber with a creamy/bubbly white head. Aroma seems lightly floral. Med body. Flavor is lightly spicey with some mild caramel. Makes me think of a light Belgian ale. Then it develops a flavor I associate with Asian food - actually maybe an incense note. It’s not exceptionally bitter, but it’s dry. Unusual to me.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JoeMcPhee (7622) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2011
Golden pour. Aroma is lightly malty with a little bit of light bready straw aroma. Fairly clean but there is a very light fruity estery component to the beer. Soft and quite well-balanced. Kind of reminds me of Honker’s Pale Ale. A lightly sweet fruitiness on the finish. A little bit of grassiness on the finish as well.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BOLTZ7555 (2378) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 13, 2011
Golden body with citrus and light caramel finding their way to the nose and tongue. Pretty uneventful...easy drinking and non-descript. Find something more memorable.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cybercat (2454) - Georgia, USA - FEB 8, 2011
Aroma is crisp with a fruity underpinning, a bit sweet, typical but still acceptable. It pours a typical clear amber with a white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Flavor is malty and crisp with a hint of pear and a bitter hoppy touch, not memorable but still enjoyable. Texture is fairly smooth and nicely fizzy. Overall, an average beer, but still worthy. This one is good for a party or with dinner.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sparky (2130) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 8, 2011
12oz bottle. Pours hazy gold with a one finger white head. The nose is malt and light citrus. The taste is malt, light fruit and honey. Medium bodied. Not one of the better APAs out there.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 dionysus (1443) - Arizona, USA - JAN 26, 2011
Bottle pours gold with a white head. Aroma is grainy with hints of cardboard, and a touch of grass. Flavor shows basically the same. Overall body is extremely thin with very little bitterness.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 cheap (3377) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 19, 2011
From a bottle, smell is a little off ruity, almost like fermented. Reminds me of my gramma’s permanent hair treatment. First taste is somewhat noneventful. Not too bitter and decent co2 Fairly easy, a more milder APA, fer sure. Rotting fermented fruit carries over to the background of the flavor. Never approaches IPA territory like many APA try to do. Almost acceptable by a lager lovers standards.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ibrew2or3 (5777) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - DEC 23, 2010
12oz bottle pours clear deep gold with weak white head. The aroma is floral with thin ribbons of metallic notes, spicy hops and sweet to caramel malts. The taste seems like it has the hop bill of a macro pale lager with floral notes, sharp acidic to metallic notes and mild spicy hops. I also get sweet malts with a touch of esteriness and some caramel malts heading into the finish. The floral and estery notes make this a Pale I just don’t dig.
2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 phobos1031 (87) - Paradise, Nevada, USA - DEC 18, 2010
12 oz. bottle not a whole lot of aroma, at all. deep slightly opaque golden color. tiny floral short palate. not a very deep flavor. probably really good for the desert in the summer.
