jjpm74 (2760), Connecticut, USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle courtesy of funknmilla. Thanks! Pours gold with a white head. Smells of dry malt, light spice, perfume, some floral hints. Tastes lightly bitter with some refreshing dry malt. Crisp finish. I was hoping for a little more body and a touch of funk, but this is very sessionable. Heathen (464), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Jul 6, 2008 THOUGHTS: I’ve always avoided this beer, but after finding that saisons aren’t scary, I decided to try it. It had some funk, but mild enough to please the masses. At least the masses of beer lovers. Really refreshing summer beer. I didn’t really get the wheat in the aroma, but I’m just glad it didn’t have that grainy aroma of most FF beer. I think this is one of their better beers.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, golden orange with a small, white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was a hint a caramel malt, light citrus hops (lime), and light to moderate horse blanket yeast. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and bitter, and moderately acidic; while the finish was moderate to heavily acidic, moderately bitter, and sour with an average duration. There was a little caramel malt then some funky yeast and citrus hop with a little lemon and a little wheat. The light to medium body was dry with fizzy carbonation and a dry and moderate to heavy astringent finish. peter (331), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pour was golden with a little head. Nose had some corn and a bit of butter to it. Flavour had a thin hop profile but was assertive enough to make a great session beer. checkmatei1 (222), Willow Grove, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle at my wedding: Poured a golden yellow with a white head. The aroma was some hops, fruit, yeast and spice. The flavor was smooth. It tasted slightly hoppy and just enough sweetness to make this easy drinking. Overall, one of my absolute favorite summer beers, good enough for me to supply to my guests at our wedding. DeadGuyFrank (316), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Jun 21, 2008 Pours murky gold, thin white head, watered down saison if there ever was one. Makes people want drink a Blue Moon.
