sinkr (134), Lusby, Maryland, USA Mar 26, 2008 Draft->plastic cup (tasting@brewery): Pours a huge, frothy head that exhibits good lacing atop of a yellow body. Aroma is of grain, celery, sweat, and vegetables. The body is medium, sticky texture, average carbonation with an astringent finish. The flavor is average, lightly sweet, acidic, and bitter with a finish of vinegar.
Not a favorite of mine, but this beer is an OK drink, especially if you’re handed one at a party.

Aroma - Honey, light toasted grain, few earthy notes, distant spice
Appearance - Clear gold, rather meager foamy white head that collapses rapidly, without much lace
Flavor - Light malty sweetness barely comes into play, as a soft bitterness starts quickly, and continues into a pleasing dry finish.
Palate - Light body, medium carbonation, crisp and dry, leaving a very clean palate
Overall - Pleasant enough for a refresher, but without much depth or interest. Fairly bland for a saison. LiebeBier (744), RIchmond, Virginia, USA Aug 26, 2008 Bottle - This bottle had more hefe character than Saison. I liked the beer as it had the refreshing qualities from the what and a soft bite from the hops. A real mix of flavors here. Very refreshing. can8ianben (608), Pasadena, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 Tastes crisp and fresh. Fresh apple and sour yeasty notes in the aroma. The mothfeel is thin and lacks the body that I was hoping for with this farmhouse style beer. Would be a delicious beverage for a hot summer day and went pretty well with my Ethiopian food. smjohnst (133), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 This was probably the best summer ale that I have tasted. It had a nice color to it and didn’t lack on flavor like alot of them. Flying fish puts out good stuff. dmtroyer (343), Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2008 12oz. Wow, what a disappointment from one of my favorite styles. Lightly filtered? yeah right, this is completely clear bodied and as such carries no distinctive properties of the style. Drinks more like a domestic than a saison. Good riddance.
