Great Belgian ale with great structure and body. Probably one of my very favorite Flying Fish beers because itís straightforward but complex too. Really satisfying and food friendly.

Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours cloudy golden with a modest off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a slightly fruity caramel malt flavor with lots of spice and a mildly bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours mostly clear orange with a medium, creamy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy and cellar fruity esters, cookie and grain malt with Belgian Candi sugar notes and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and faint bitterness, spicy and peppery Belgian yeast phenols with fruity esters and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Odd aroma of spices and beef jerky. Bright gold, thin foam. Funky flavors of yeast, lemon, citrus and mango. Overall, this is decent. Strong citrus flavor. Iíd give this a B- rating.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice beer....probably doesnít want to be called nice. However it is. Pours a hazy straw color out of bottle. Aroma is of fruit and spice....a white head laces and sticks around.. Flavor wise it is not that heavy and creamy, it is very drinkable..would like to open another one of these.

Cinnamon smell and taste stronger than most winter seasonal. Rusty orange color. My favorite winter ale (so far).

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance is hazy amber gold with a fluffy medium-sized white head that leaves a clinging lace. Aroma is redolent of ripe fruit with hints of mango, apricots and cloves. First sip yields a fruity maltiness that touches on plums and golden raisins. Spicy hops help balance this ale nicely. Very nicely done.
