COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong golden ale showcases a variety of the ingredients and brewing methods that help differentiate Flying Fish beers. The Grand Cru is fermented at a higher temperature than our other beers adding an undercurrent of fruitiness (although there is no fruit in the beer). Very lightly filtered, the Grand Cru exhibits complex mouthfeel, strong malt flavors, a spicy hop presence and a soothing alcohol warmth, followed by a clean, dry finish. Bottle conditioned, it is excellent with food as well as served by itself.

Bottle, 12oz. An almost clear one, golden in color and with an off-white head. Some Belgian style yeast and fruityness, white sugar and a touch of citrus in the aroma. Alcohol too. The flavor has a little bitterness, not so much sweetness, but some alcohol. Belgian yeast, fruityness and a faint herbal, spiced hint. Warming and full-bodied with a nice carbonation. Fruity finish with a nice bitterness. A pretty decent one, but it canít compete with the best Belgians in any way. 140228

Bottle from the Total Wine on Arden in Sacramento. Pours hazy orange/gold with a creamy white head. Aromas of fruit and yeast/spice. Near full bodied. Flavor is yeast/spice with light stone fruit. Itís dry, very lightly bitter, but the yeast/spice seems to cover the bitter necessities of life. Itís very good.
