COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the request of you hopheads, we produced this I.P.A. with a deep golden color, plenty of hop bitterness balanced by malt sweetness. Because of the extensive dry hopping, there’s a floral and citrus hop finish. It’s then lightly filtered to maintain the appropriate body and flavor. The beer features a combination of American, English and German malts to balance the large amount of hops. The HopFish also uses three hop varieties at five different times and has been dry-hopped for two weeks with 22lbs of Nugget whole leaf hops.

Chris and Alisa brought this one back from a trip to New Jersey +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was crystal malt, grapefruit, lemon and a touch of pepper. The flavor was bitter and malty with a noted crystal malt presence and grapefruit, caramel and vague fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Can - hazy light orange with a bubbly medium head. Piney hop aroma and taste. Also some citrus in there. Very east coast IPA the sweet finish. Not very bitter.

DATE TASTED: June 13, 2015... GLASSWARE: Barley Creek pint... OCCASION: Just returned from Liberty Day fireworks... APPEARANCE: light, bubbly body, with a hint of obscurity; white head is creamy and leaves lacing that resembles hedgerows; thick and consistent--a promising start... AROMA: immediate slap of caramel to the nose; some yeasts that blanket the hops with an earthy, funky distinction; what does slip through is soft citric hops, approximating lemon zest... PALATE: vivid, active on the back tongue; a balanced, medium-bodied experience... TASTE: subtle spice and balanced malts/hops make for an understated profile initially… caramel malts outstrip the hops, making this a sweeter IPA... OVERALL: as the label establishes a more British approach, with an easier drinking, maltier version of what the hop head is expecting; melon and flowery hops reward late—this is a solid beer with a decent ABV%...

Lightly hazy dark golden colored body, medium to thin white head, spotty lacing. Mild lemon and orange zest, florals, light grainy malts, and just a hint of grass. Meidum to light bodied, moderate carbonation, mild bitterness.

Bottle. Muted hoppy nose and flavors. Maybe it was an old batch, but all the hop/IPA flavors were flat and muted. Very disappointing, compared to other Flying Fish beers, such as Red Fish.

Pours a orange tinged Amber with white head and lace. Aroma of carmeled malts and light citrus. Taste was more malt heavy than hoppy. A light citrus note over carmel malts. Not a hop bomb and that made it more enjoyable for me.

Pours an orange gold, coppery color with off-white head. Floral notes, light citrus, and some malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a balanced out malt bill. Would have liked more of a hop bite on the finish.

Tap at Dinosaur Bar-BQ Pours rather unclear, darker amber . Small white head ( rather stable ) Smell is unintense, slightly bittered malty scent . Taste is mild bitter . Malty , light aroma , but not as much as you’d expect from a US IPA . finish is a bit perfumy-fruity ... Seems to me like hopextracts, though I am not sure about that.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2015 Light brown with off white head. Light malt and earthy hop aroma. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, some lemon citrus and hint of grassy hop. Slightly dry lemon finish. Bitterness and hop flavors more like a pale ale than an IPA.
