4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: APR 21, 2009 One of my favorite IPAís. The aroma you get when poured, very good. The flavor of this beer, well just try it. If you dont like hoppy beers than donít bother. I rank this right up there with DogfishHead 60min IPA

I had it on tap. It pours golden with a white head and some lacing. The aroma was slight hops. There was something off about the aroma. The taste was hops, earth, and lemon. This was a decent but forgettable IPA.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour is a clear amber with a light white head which lingers and laces.....aroma of lemon and grass......taste is malt sweetness, touch of lemon then tails off into slight bittering with a remnant of earth at the end.

Malt and molasses for days....too much. It starts out with heavy malt notes, gives the hops very little time to shine and then goes straight back to the overwhelming malts. Disappointed.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Tir Na Nog. Malty English IPA, sweet malts first, hops in the back seat. Leads into a dry, chalky finish. A darker shade of gold also hints at the bigger malt profile. Pretty true to style, but not the norm when using the letters IPA

12oz bottle, not sure how it looked because I sucked it right down from the bottle. Nose has lemon, pine, grass, a little honey, some light cardboard. Flavor has honey comb, pine and soap. Slick finish. So so.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
BBD 12/27/15. Pours a clear medium amber. Normal head volume, outstanding lacing and retention.
Very light nose of biscuit, caramel and slightly spicy hops. Iím surprised the aroma is so light.
Light body that has a smooth texture. Perfect carbonation with an effervescent middle that never really ends. It just rolls into a nice prickly finish.
Good flavor profile that lacks a bit of intensity for the style but is quite tasty. Very well balanced with enough complexity. It begins with malt (caramel and biscuit) that is noticeable but not sweet per se. The middle is slightly bitter. As the finish approaches mild hop flavor arrives - pine and rind. The finish is a touch grainy and the hop flavors slowly fade.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bitter flowery aroma, with a taste of citrus with a little pine, and a buttery caramel malt backbone. When I first tasted it, I wanted to describe it as balanced, or in the English style, but I think this leans towards the hoppier side, itís just that it has a "large minority" malt taste profile, and I think the taste, for better or for worse, is different than the English style IPAs Iíve had in the past. Theyíre kind of doing their own thing here- and itís a good thing. The rating I gave it above is a pretty high rating by my standards. Donít know what the normal pricing on this is- I got it on sale for a good price- Iíll have to look into whether or not itís affordable at itís regular price or not.
