3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 RedSox2004 (990) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - MAY 21, 2012Hazy orange color with a modest head, ok retention and nice lace. Subtle grassy hops aroma with a touch of pineapple and grapefruit. Slight hops bitterness balanced with bready malt sweetness. Light to medium body, lots of carbonation, a bit harsh on the tongue, and a crisp finish. A good example of the difference between an East Coast IPA and a West Coast IPA. Perhaps my tongue is numb.

12 oz bottle This is my third beer from Flying Fish. The ale poured an almost clear golden color. The head was small and dissapated to a small white collar on the ale. The aroma was sweet with some citrus and caramel malts. There is something missing. The amount hops they state used in this ale are not evident. They are muted and almost bland. The taste had some grapefruit and floral flavors. The finish is fairly clean with a light body and average carbonation. It is a drinkable IPA but not one I would recommed to define this beer type.

I expected a but more from the folks that make exit 4 and exit 16... An adequate IPA, but no wow factor... Better options out there...

12oz bottle. Pours a medium copper color with a small white foamy head. A light hop aroma with a decent malty backbone. Taste is of sweet malts, and floral and piney bitter hops.

Bottle. I have some NJ pride but this is not the best IPA on the market. Grab something else.

Very attractive amber pour with a nice white head that fades into some lacing. The aroma is sweet citrus hops. The taste is quite complex but a very fine balance between malt and hop. The citrus hop flavor stands out the most as it finishes fairly clean with just the tiniest hint of bitterness left on the tongue. It’s quite drinkable for an IPA and very good beer overall!
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 burgy (402) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Not bad, but not great. More like a watery pale ale not a IPA. Mild hops and a balanced feel.

I didn't rate the aroma or look very positively. It just looks like any old filtered pale ale. The aroma doesn't do it justice either.
This beer is quite delicious. Not extraordinarily hoppy. In fact, the claimed IBU of 55-60 does not come across in the taste or aroma. It tastes like a very drinkable (multiple!) pale ale.
I enjoy it quite a bit, and the fact that it's brewed here in New Jersey is a nice touch for me. Will drink this again for sure.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 pras (293) - Maryland, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Good IPA. Full bodied, aroma of floral and citrus hops. Flavor follows through from the aroma with citrus (orange and grapefruit) notes, and very floral. In balance.

Aroma of grass, moss, pine, and biscuit malt. Pours clear amber with a good blanket of froth. Taste is very mild with slight bitter grass and stale bread. Drinks close to a lager. Easy to knock back but not for hopheads.
