COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New Jersey has always had a rich brewing heritage dating back to it’s founding by the English in 1664. To celebrate this anniversary we’ve brewed a historic-style: an English Stock Ale. Rich imported malts along with both historic and modern hops and a generous helping of blackstrap molasses makes for a hearty and complex flavor. The Cluster hops, the first variety cultivated in the US, add a piney aroma, a nod to the Pine Barrens, one of our state’s treasures.

Poured into snifter a hazy deep gold. Aroma is Carmel malts, grassy hops, slightly piney like a walk in the Pines on a hot day , slightly toasted grass and pine resins. Taste is cereal, bready, toasted malts. An English profile. Pine bitterness in the finish but it is nicely soft. Body is light and smooth. Small white head and lace with mild carbonation. Very drinkable, well done, I enjoyed this one.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Buy Rite, 2/6/15

Aroma: It has a light malty aroma, some herbal notes, a bit of spice, and some caramel
Appearance: Pours a murky orangish color with a with a sheety off-white head and coating lace
Flavor: The taste is along the same lines, lightly sweet, with a herbal/spice finish
Palate: Medium bodied, leaning light, with a average-plus carbonation, and a light dry finish
Overall Impression: Decent overall. It is a little on the lighter side from a nose/taste perspective. Pretty drinkable. Not a standout, but a solid beer.

750ml bottle courtesy of mikeq215. Thanks. Pours a hazy copper-amber color with a medium sized white head that has very good retention. The aroma is pleasant with pine, sweet caramel and something spicy-herbal. The taste is complex with a big blast of toffee followed by mellowed bitter pine, peppery spices and a trace of molasses in the background. The palate is full and viscous and compliments the style nicely. The carbonation is soft. Finishes long and sticky sweet, but not cloying. Overall: This beer is a masterpiece, I absolutely loved it.

Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a light tan frothy head. Aroma of syrupy malt with piney hops. Taste is malty sweet nicely offset by a piney citrus hop bitterness. Nicely balanced. A hood homage to an old English style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Want to like it for patriotic reasons, but realistically the multiple hops element is too strong. Molasses is allegedly present, and yet it’s difficult to detect either that or the malt. Alcohol burn is also basically non-existent. Too bad

Nice beer. It has a reddish tint to it. Aroma of malt and candy. The flavor is rich with malts and just enough hops to balance. Goes down smooth and easy.

Split bottle pour of golden liquid, white head. Nose is straw and hops, not too bitter but citrusy. Malted flavor with medium hop chasacter, clean citrus with being overly bitter. Fairly drinkable overall for sure

About a 1 inch thick head of bright white, fine bubbles. Sharp and biting aroma with some ashes, dried leaves, burnt toast and dried pine boughs. Color is a hazy dark copper. Rather dry and chalky mouthfeel. More dried grains, tea leaves, spicy hops. Light alchol presence. Lacking a bit of malt and sweetness for balance. Finishes dry and stings the tongue a bit. An ok brew.
