3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 swirl (267) - collingswood, New Jersey, USA - NOV 25, 2006This is one of my favorite seasonal brews from one of my local brewers. Looks like you would expect from an Octoberfest , but with a hoppier aroma. Flavor is well balanced, and always reminds me of fall

Original reviewed: 11/7/12. One of the last new Oktos for me this fall. I always try to snag some that I haven’t had before. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Pours a dark honey-gold with a small sheet of lace on top. The nose is really simple with sweet grains, hay, biscuity malt. Good moderate body. Carbonation level is spot on. The taste is reminiscent of cider with some pale fruit character - sweet. Mild bitterness balances out the sweetness though. Caramel malt rounds this out making it a pleasure to drink.
This is one of the easiest styles for me to drink, and this one is no exception. Good beer.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (4035) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark amber color with a small soapy white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was barely present but was tart and dryish with faint fruity hops. Bland flavor with barely detectable notes of dry malts, tangy yeastiness and a touch of nut. Short dry and yeasty finish. Medium body. Blah.

Bottle. Pours clear amber to rusty orange with very little fizzy white head, no retention or lacing. Aroma is toast and straw malt with light earthy hops. Flavor is malty with light hops and bitterness, a clean fermentation with a dry finish. Light body and prickly carbonation.

Very happy with this beer. Nice clear amber color with not much in terms of ear. Light carbonation and very malty. Leaves a nice sweet finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 crhensel (97) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 22, 2012
Pours a clear amber with minima head. Aroma is up front with hints of malt and a little caramel. The taste carries this malt through, but with a hoppy bite at the end for a crisp finish. It is interesting, but not overpowering in any way. A very refreshing beer.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a fairly small head. Little malty and caramel notes in the nose. Little sweet to the taste. Decent brew.
3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 Thisis12ptfont (648) - Los Angeles, CA, California, USA - OCT 23, 2012
Odd brown sugar and munich malt aroma. Amber/copper in color with no foam. Surprisingly hoppy bitter overtones upfront with a pleasant brown sugar and sweet caramel malt backbone. The finish becomes very dry and bitter. Overall, this is a very well done and full bodied Oktoberfest brew with a nice hoppy twist to it. I’d give this a B+ rating.
