3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Red with white head. Nose is piney and citrusy. Orange and lemon notes in the taste. Caramel malt, maybe a little too sweet. Good full mouthfeel. Solid.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Flavor is smooth and very weak as far as an ale goes. Aroma is mildly fruity and weak. Color is a nice amber.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Dockside Willie's, this pours brown-amber into the glass with a wispy head that leaves sparse lacing. The nose is woody, earthen hops. Caramel and a touch of citrus in the mouth finish with a nice lingering bitter. Medium-bodied, this goes down well in summer, yet is substantive enough to provide complexity.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Copper white head. Nose is pungent wood/pine/onion/garlic/mango and crystal malt. Flavour is reversed with malt at the forefront. Pretty sticky palate, slight bitterness mixed with caramel on the finish. Nice punchy amber, love it!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Overall a fairly surprising brew with strength from a company with usually weak alternatives. This has a really special hops mix that comes out with just the right amount of bittering combines with an orange vibe while the rest of the mediocre pack gives off citrus lemon. Must be a pairing of the nice and heavy malt to back up the high hops, yet doesn’t overwhelm. Nice job, this one is a winner. Make it year round, not just seasonally. Build on it and a solid ESB could be in there as well.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 fl. oz bottle picked up at the Iron Abbey in Horsham, PA. A clear dark amber on the glass, off white head. Fresh hopy with hints of pepper on the nose. Starts very malty with roasty elements in a hopy bedding. A honey part in the middle, before the malt comes back. No overdosing, everything in a balanced way. Maybe some salty elements in the aftertaste. Highly recommended!

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is an above average beer. Mildly hoppy, mildly malty. Nothing extreme, just a really good hearty flavor.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Taster at beer event. Pours red/brown with tall white head. Aroma is distinct pine/saw dust. Nice mixture of hops in the taste - not too bitter, a bit resinous, bounces well off the malt. Not sure I want a full glass but it wasn’t bad.

A nice hoppy red ale. Sweet malts, floral hops, burnt orange in color with frothy head and some lacing. A little citrus in the nose, decent.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle.
An attractive, malty, red ale that gets the hops just right. Not a specialty beer. I could buy a case of this.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Served on tap in a pint
Appearance – The beer is deep copper color with a once finger head of white foam atop. The head fades relatively quickly leaving a decent level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of sweeter caramel smells mixed with some fruity aromas of peach and pear. Along with these smells is some very lightly toasted malt smells and a decent showing of a pine and grassy aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter caramel and slightly bready taste. Upfront there is a moderately strong grapefruit hop flavor which increases in intensity as the taste moves on to the end. A little bit of a more roasted malt flavor comes to the tongue more toward the middle of the taste, with it remaining overall relatively light. At the end a pine flavor also comes to the tongue along with a bit of an oddly off herbal hop flavor, which ends up leaving a slightly off dank hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on average to slightly thicker side with a carbonation level that was on the slightly lower side. Normally the thicker body and lower carbonation would have been great for the sweet, bread, and hop flavors of the brew, but due to the slightly off herbal flavor at the end, it actually turned out to be a harm to the brew.
Overall – If it wasn’t for the somewhat off hop flavor encountered at the end of the taste, this would have been an alright brew, but with it it’s not one to go to.
