COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Well, we tried naming this beer Scarlet Fever, but the Feds would not approve our label because it was also the name of a disease. Since we’re plumb out of time and other great name ideas, we’re calling this West Coast hoppy red ale, Red Fish. Columbus, Chinook and Cascade hops give the beer a robust piney nose. Two-row, crystal and cara-red malts give the beer a malty background and a 7% abv.

Slightly hazy honey brown with an inch of dense off-white head with great retention. I’m holding back an appearance point, because I feel it should be redder. Aroma is pine and citrus, and flavor is sweet and resinous with citrus and pine, with toasty, biscuity malt joining them in taste.

A caramel malt flavor dominates at first, with piney hops at the end. Not great, but drinkable.

Good beer. Pours a reddish amber. Looks great in a pint glass. Thin head that doesnt last long. Defintely a bold beer. Strong bitter taste right off the bat with a nice bitter finish. Like i said. This is a good beer. Not great but good. Couldnt see myself drink more than one or two of these in a sitting.

Pours red with a moderate amount of hop flavor. Medium head and spiced like a traditional red. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy amber with thin white head that fizzles out quickly. Faint smell of sweet malt, light hops and bread. Can detect hops on the tongue, though not strong. Some sweet caramel. Light to medium body. Decent brew.

12 Oz bottle from AOPD for December 2015 The amber ale poured a cloudy amber color with small head that dissipated to some dried lacing. The aroma was very feint of pine resin. The taste has some subtle bitterness but very mild. The ale had a medium body with soft carbonation, The finish had some toffee with some bitterness in the upper mouth.

Bottle from party. Hops present along with caramel and malt backing, dried fruits, spice, pine. An off-guard amber, excellent from the bottle or can.

Bottle to shaker glass, pours hazy amber/orange. One finger off white head with light lacing and some retention. Aroma of caramel and light pine. Taste is mainly sweet, some earthy hop bitterness but not quite enough to balance. Medium body, lively carbonation, chewy mouth feel. Finishes bittersweet. Tasting notes of caramel, spruce, grass, mango and nuts. Not bad but nothing to write home about.
