Dark Gold, light white head. Strong oily citrus aroma (lemon slices) and vegetal earthiness seem to come from surprisingly mellow hops. Flavor is in line with the nose, hoppy, oily, full of citrus fruits. A sweet beginning that ends up in a long bitter aftertaste. Oily body, medium carbonation. Good regular IPA.

Draft @ the pub. Nose is citrus hops with a very English aroma and flavor. Funky hop and musty grain flavors. I guess this truly is a nice example of the style since all “English” beers taste old and musty. Light pine hop notes. Slightly lingering bitterness. For what this it is a decent representation of the style.

Orange brown. No head. Up front Malts. Sort of floral. Mango. Sort of tropical but very faint. Yeah. Very tropical. However it is true to the style. It has that sort of bland aged hops bitterness. Not my favorite in a beer. Kiwi finish. Dry bitterness. 80% carbonation. Medium body.

Hazy peach pour with a small white head. Jello, caramel, grain, and nutty malts. Hints of oxidation...ugh.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours an orange brown with a thick white head. Aroma of English hops, caramel malt, toasted malt, and jam. Flavor of nice rich oily hops up front with a nice rich malt backbone. Very good English IPA! 8/4/8/4/14 [3.8/5]

Growler (drank next day after filling the bottle). This is a very solid east coast IPA. Pours cloudy amber with a decent head and lacing. This batch seemed really fresh. Good hop bite especially compared to other east coast IPAs. I look forward to trying out some of their many other styles in future visits.

An amber IPA with a thin creamy white head. A pleasant floral hops aroma with citrus floral hop, classy. In mouth, crisp malt with good c-hops, very good, medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 27 2009.

On tap at the brew pub. Smells fruity of hops. Appearance is a clear amber with a fizzy white head. Flavor is very bitter and not well balanced. Palate is nice and smooth though. I would definately opt for the Long Brothers Strong Ale over this.
