"I’m not a fan of ales. This beer was memorable despite the taste let down but I’d love to stop by for another. A - Poured into a pint glass with a 3 finger head. They call it Golden Ale with good reason as cloudy gold liquid barely let any light through. The head subsided slowly. S - The smell was sweet with traces of pine and marshmallows. Lavender also hit my nose. T - If the taste matched the smell, I’d be leaving a more positive review. A mix between Budweiser and Yuengling with traces of a great beer buried between the two. Low ABV and very light hops meant the beer wasn’t full by any means and left me unsatisfied with the residual tastes staying around for a while long after I finished swallowing. M - Carbonation explodes with one swish and sticks around for a while. I enjoyed the mouthfeel if only it tasted better. O - I’d get the beer again if my entree was a plate of chicken wings or cheese fries. I wasn’t too impressed with it but, as another reviewer mentioned, if you’re driving through, avoiding the 9%+ ABV beers is probably a good idea. For a low ABV beer that’s light on the stomach, I was satisfied but, at Flying Goose, this wouldn’t be my first choice out of their selection of 15 on tap."

Clear golden pour with a small white head. Nondescript grain, hints of caramel and some nice grassy/spicy hops. Mediocre.

On tap at the Flying Goose Pub. It pours a hazy, pale yellow with an off-white head and a goodly amount of lacing. Not much in the way of an aroma and that which I could whiff was grassy and wheaty,. The mouthfeel wasn’t too bad so it had a decent enough body. The taste was very sour and very tangy. It wasn’t what I’ve come to expect from a golden ale.

Mildly fruity, sweet malty aroma with some notes of licorice. Clear golden body with shy white head. Fair licorice note to the grainy flavour. Light body. Seems somewhat unattenuated and lightly oxidised. Sampled at the brewpub with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.

Near-absence of aroma portends feeble citrus fruit and a weak hop finish...A nondescript bland blond which should maybe be their light instead of the Loon Island...Obviously for the macro crowd...

Sample at the brewpub. Not a promising start to my tasting spree, but it got better soon (read on, rater). Very clear pale golden, light fresh malty/grassy nose, hint of piney hops. Thin-bodied, reasonably bitter for the style, but flavor just isn't there and it seems a bit stale at the end.
