3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Davros (1024) - Melbourne, - MAY 27, 2010
Pours hazy dark amber.
Loads of juicy hops form the aroma, with tropical fruit, pine and resin. Faint caramel malt along with sweet confectionery notes.
Similar flavours but not as clean. Lots of resin and pine, some grassy notes.
Too much carbonation, just like their wheat beer.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 highlandlad (1329) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - FEB 21, 2011
Dull, malt-dominated EPA. Burnished gold with a thin, soapy head. Strong crystal malt in the aroma - boy would I like to be the guy supplying it to the Australian industry right now because there are plenty of takers. A red flag for me - the malts dominate the nose and you’d expect more hops from an EPA. Give them their due - it tastes like every other English bottled ale I ever overpaid for here. Marginally under-carbonated but I can see what they were aiming for. Toffee, toffee, toffee, with a pinch of clove. Metallic tang and Spangles lolly fruitiness. Dunno what happened to the Cascade - I don’t get any citrus in this at all. Not awful, just blah. (330ml bottle)
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maris (545) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - FEB 9, 2011
From a 330ml bottle on 9/2/2011. The aroma is passionfruit, citrus fruit (oranges), lots of caramel malt, and a little musk. In the mouth, sweet caramel malt dominates, with some lemon notes. The hops balance things out nicely. This is a very enjoyable APA (not an English Pale as described).
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bluevegie (2930) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 6, 2011
Tried on tap at Biero. Nose was quite good, passionfruit and citrus and sherbet. The taste got more lemony as you get into it then though became a little watery.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Jade (311) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 18, 2010
Clear and golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma is hops and more hops. Flavour is somewhat funky - not entirely unpleasant though.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pyobon (567) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 25, 2010
Bottle. This was absurdly frothy making it effectively impossible to pour - I had two 330cl glasses and a tumbler filled with foam with a small amount of hazy amber fluid beneath it. After many minutes it settled somewhat and was possible to drink rather than eat with a spoon. There’s a pleasant hop aroma with exotic fruits and some peppery spiciness. Medium body but stupidly fizzy and frothy. The taste is a nice balance of malt and peppery spice, but perhaps a bit thin and bland. The finish is a bit flat with little hoppy bitterness. Overall this beer was completely spoiled by the extreme over-carbonation, however it is OK but not special when it final settles down.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 mkel07 (1809) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 31, 2010
330ml bottle. Super high carbonation that exploded out of the bottle and lost half the beer before I could get it into the glass. Foam mountain that takes forever to settle. Malty caramel aroma with a similar taste. Overall very disappointing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bluebetty (880) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 5, 2010
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange. Huge creamy coloured head. Took several minutes to pour. Plenty of lacing. Heaps of banana yeast character in the aromas with some sweet caramel and a little citrus hops. The hops are no where near as dominant as I would have expected. Flavours are a tad confused with those banana flavours once again dominant against some sweet doughy malt and some resiny hop bitterness. Was kind of expecting more hops given the description but they certainly do not dominate. Drinkable all the same though
