Very dark, deeply roasty to start and then the lactic sour seems to grow on your tongue with the pH change. Lightly particulate feel, otherwise light medium bodied. A good stout with an interesting twist.

Jun 26, 2009 Pours dark brown with an off white head. Smells earthy and sweet. Tastes sweet with some peppery splashes on the finish.

Mar 7, 2009 A more than competent stout that lives up to its rating. Pours black with a whisp of a white head. Decent roasty aroma. About average mouthfeel, with some chocolate in there. Very drinkable stout.

Jan 21, 2009 Bottle extra in a trade. Pours a black rich body with a tan head. Light smokey peat nose with hints of coffee bitterness. Starts lightly sweet with notes of chocolate with a light oily mouth feel and finishes with a moderate coffee bitterness a bit cloying. Simple with a nice roastiness reminds me more of an oatmeal stout

Jan 18, 2009 Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is smoked malt with a mild chocolate and coffee bit. Flavor is smokey and full of roast with just a touch of sweetness. Good flavor and pretty darn good.

Nov 1, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of theisti. Pours a jet black with a tan head. Nose is roasted malt & coffee. Smooth, well bodied palate with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Taste is roasted malt with some bitter burnt coffee coming out midway thru. Also flavor of semi sweet bakers chocolate. Bitter finish.

Pours black with a small dark tan head that dissipates quickly and remains slightly lacy. Not quite a four finger width head. Smells of burnt roasted malts, sweet cherry chocolate, some bitter hops, and some mocha. Not a bad smelling smout. Feels and tastes slightly watered down with a thin body. Taste of sweet cherry chocolate again, roasty, kind of acidic but not citrusy, more of an oatmeal stout flavor/feel. Very dry finish with a lingering light bitterness. Overall, a little watery, but not a bad stout. Again, I compared it to an oatmeal stout, but it does have more taste than some of the generic oatmeal stouts I’ve had. Not a bad beer.
