Bottle from the Beer Store. This is definitely a reuse of the name as it is also definitely not an American Pale Ale. The current incarnation is listed as a Hibiscus Pale Lager 4.1% ABV. From the label " This sessionable ruby tinged lager is steeped with heaps of hibiscus flowers, rosehips, fresh raspberries, and orange peel. The exotic flush of the tart hibiscus and acerbic raspberry notes bloom in this rose-frothed brew." It pours a medium pinkish amber with a small white cap that lingers and leaves some streaks of lace. The raspberry is dominant in the nose but lots of flowery notes from the hibiscus and rosehips are evident as well. Raspberry dominates the the flavour as well, but is quite well balanced by a light malt sweetness and flowery hints. Mouth is relatively thin with average carbonation and a quite dry finish. This is quite refreshing on a hot day.

Tried at Burlington Beer Festival. Pink head on a cloudy body with a difficult-to-describe colour. Aroma of sweet sweet candy and flowers. Taste is at the same time sweet and dry, with interesting floral hibiscus notes, and some fruitiness. Not bad!

Bottle from the source. Pours a cloudy orange/ pink almost salmon colour, fluffy white head that dies down to a thin layer with lots of drippy lacing. Nose is very sweet, with a lot of tea as well, I don’t know what kind, jasmine maybe. Tastes sweet, fruity, blood orange, bitter tea flavour. Really good actually. Nice flavour.

355 ml bottle from The Beer Store (oddly the bottle describes this as a hibiscus pale lager at 4.1%). Pours a clear reddish-orange colour with large, pink-tinged head that leaves nice lace. Aroma is lightly tart raspberry and cherry with some hibiscus. Flavour is quite fruity with gently tart raspberry the most prominent note and hibiscus also prominent, a little cherry in there too with some sweet tropical fruit notes towards the end. Lighter body. Very delicate carbonation. Interesting stuff - a really neat summer beer.

Tap at bar volo. Pours a reddy orange colour with a white head. Sweet vimto, raspberry soda aroma - not particularly nice. Medium carbonation, light body. It's too watery - a little ribena and soda-like. Thin. Not my thing, at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A pinkish burgundy red ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a nice sweet fruity hibiscus juice with light acidity, cherries, strawberry, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with hibiscus juice, a la sorel, with light acidity, vanilla, nice summer beer. On tap at Wellington Gastropub.

Love the aromas of Hibiscus, stone fruit and tropical fruit (mango, etc.). Crazy colour as well- amber with pink hues. Not too bitter- nice finish and very sessionable. Perfect for a spring/summer day.

Light amber pour with a tight creamy white head. The aroma is quite citrusy. Orange and some light stone fruit as well. Tangerine and peach with a soft sweet pale malt base backing it up. A little bit of soft sweetness but the hops are more than enough to counter the brew. Bright and zesty with a nice fruity component to the brew as well. Assertively hopped and very delicious. Solid, solid stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Juicy citrus, even some mango. No malts to speak of, just a good dose of apa level hops. Great carb, great palate. Medium bitterness. Such a great session beer. Bottle this! Nevermind the hoptical illusion!

[4334-20120316] Tap. Mild petrol peat leaf aroma has an underlying toasted evergreen hops. Clear, orange amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Bitter toasted resin hops flavour has a lingering piney aftertaste. Medium body. Quite tasty! (8/3/7/4/16) 3.8
