3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
July 29, 2012 - Toronto Festival Of Beers. Draught. Muddy. Like the muddiest-looking beer I have ever seen - brown, with a small frothy beige/tan head - a real ug-o. Smells like chili - I mean chili con carne, not just earthy hot(tish) peppers, but red beans, hot spice and even meat broth - frickin weird! ... how do you score that, it smells like great chili (made me hungry) but nothing like beer at all (6-). Taste - holy crap thatís hot, burnt my tongue, my voice memo is mostly just me swearing from this point on; follows the taste, spicer. REALLY thick mouthfeel, maybe itís carbonated, who can tell with the acidity and heat - good, uber-weird.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Toronto Fest of Beer. Deep brown pour. Lots of spicy pepper aroma on the nose. Flavour shows a touch of soft heat in addition to some dry chocolate and a bit of coffee. Fairly lean palate. Moderate earthy hoppiness. Heat sneaks up. Pretty nice actually.
