4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wow wow wow. Pours black with chocolate milk head. You can smell this from a mile away. Itís all chocolate. Amazing. Smells like brownies, chocolate milk and vanilla. Tastes like chocolate milk, brownies soaked in booze, and all things good. If you enjoy a nice chocolate-based imperial stout...this is the ticket. Sweet chocolate with just enough roasted malt and boozy bitterness to make this one of the best Iíve ever had.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle - As soon as opened the room filled with the aroma of chocolate. Deep black with a minimal head. Tastes of milk chocolate ending with a cocoa nib slight bitterness. Considering the heavy alcohol content, there is nothing of this in the flavour. A full bodied beer that should be shared.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2012 A chocolate stout that lives up to its name. Strong milk chocolate aroma, with a note of dark chocolate covered cherries, vanilla, a bit of a nuttiness. Nice dark black body with chocolate milk head and plenty of lacing. Taste is sweet, cherries, dark chocolate, medium bitterness to round it out. Coating palate that could be a bit peppier (more carbonation as others have mentioned), but leaves a pleasant tasty coating on the mouth. Even after the beer is finished, I still smell a pleasant aroma of baked chocolate cake or muffins. Overall quite fabulous dessert or holiday beer.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Super delicious chocolate aroma. Frothy cocoa head. Tastes of dark chocolate with cherry cordial aftertaste. A bit of vanilla. This was a chocolate delight.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Strangely expensive, over-packaged, 750 mL bottle from the brewery. Lovely pour. Looks the part, with a nice brown head and great lacing. I can smell cocoa from ten steps, but itís more like mocha and chocolate syrup up close. Sweet, but not bad. I would never guess that this is beer strictly from the aroma. And to be honest, other than the booze, the flavour isnít very "beery" either. The booze does balace some of the sweetness, though. This one is interesting, but quite one-dimensional.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle from the LCBO. dark brown with a tan head. huge choclate cake nose. flavour starts with sweet chocolate but this fades into a medicinal raw cocoa bitterness. starts off really nice but the raw cocoa make it tough to finish a small sample let alone a 750ml bottle. great nose though.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 mL bottle. Pours an opaque black colour, no light coming through this baby. A dark brown suggestion of a head, but no real volume to speak of. Aroma is seriously chocolatey, extra rich and syrupy smelling, malt notes just barely detectable on the nose, definitely cocoa-y but very one dimensional. Flavor is better, a great big sweet chocolate slap in the face, but a nice one; not that synthetic chocolate made with vegetable oil, real good quality dark chocolate fudge. Shortly after it tips a little bitter and roasted malt notes come out, powdered cocoa, vanilla and coffee, followed by a warming boozy sensation. Palate is full bodied and smooth, rich and coating with a long finish. Not typically a flavoured beer fan, but this is pretty tasty.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Over-priced LCBO 750mL bottle. Pours opaque dark brown with a light brown head. The aroma is unbelievably chocolate-driven, and it actually reminds me a lot of chocolate milk. Very interesting. Flavour is even more intense, I think this is the single most chocolate-y beer Iíve ever had, beating out ST Choklat. The cocoa nibs really play a significant role as well as the yeast which is one of the only things keeping this from becoming a cloying mess. Mildly creamy, but I would recommend drinking this one at below room temp in order to be able to tolerate it. Wow, what a monster, and the first thing in a while from this brewery to really impress me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml bottle. Pours near black with lots of mocha head that leaves a lot of sticky lace down the glass. As soon as I cracked the seal I could smell chocolate cake like there was one baking in the oven. Stick your nose in and itís almost overpoweringly chocolatey. Thereís a hint of vanilla in there but not much else is detectable under the insanity of chocolate. On the palate thereís a slightly more detectable beerishness, mostly due to the warming effects of the highish alcohol content. Thereís a licorice note there but itís still overwhelmingly chocolate cake. The body is a little light for the balls forward flavour.
Good, but not great.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750ml capped bottle pours a dark brown, almost black color with a huge mocha head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by dark chocolate, not allowing any others to come through. Taste is also dominated by chocolate sweetness with not much else. Medium bodied and lightly carbonated. If you love chocolate, you will like this brew. This is more of a dessert in a glass than a beer. I happen to like chocolate, so that skews my rating a little to the high side.
