Suburbia gets a bad rap. Without Suburbia, so many of us wouldn’t have the teenage culture or common unifying experiences that gave us something to rebel against. Brewed with late addition hops, and just enough malt to provide a smooth, bready body, Genius of Suburbia ISA is a quirky suburban brew that still makes a statement against brewing conformity.

[4537-20120621] Tap. Fresh leafy hops aroma has a fresh lemon-orange kick. Hazy, brown orange body with a quick foamy white head. Citrus lemon orange hops bitter flavour has a lingering almost dry sour finish. Medium body. Tasty. (7/3/7/4/14) 3.5

Can from lcbo. Spicy aroma with light resin and lemon notes. Lemon and spice in the taste. A bit of a crisp lager finish that makes me surprised it’s an ale. Not too bad!

Can @ LCBO, they had it catagorized as a "Wheat" idiots but more on that later. I got over it. This is really very tasty beer and @ 3.8 abv extremely good. Some days a beer that is just tasty after a day of mind numbing borefest is the ticket. Highly recommended.

Can from LCBO. Light golden orange pour with a white head. Thin body, bright palate, too much malt and a little stale cardboard. Forgettable.

Translucent straw yellow, very little visible carbonation. Very light aroma, a touch too light in my opinion - faint grassy hops and tangerine/orange candy. More flavourful than the average session IPA, considerable amount of sweet caramel malt and dry, bready hops. Bitterness is short and refreshing. Nice, crisp palate that isn’t too thin. I’ve always found Flying Monkeys beers to be a bit more malt-forward relative to style, and this is no exception. Not necessarily my preference, but this delivers what you expect out of a session IPA.

Rating #1730 - 2015.06.05 - Sample from @49thParallelYEG at Beerfest - Beautiful aromatics erupt from a golden yellow pour with a bubbly white head - grapefruit, pine. Mild toffee sweetness, mild earthy, piney bitterness. Very tasty.

light yellow and white foam retention and appreciable loop. Smell of straw, wheat, pepper, lemony grass, light melon and yeast. Soft taste with a citrus hoppy malts profile, pineapple and herbs. Spicy and citric finish. Very balanced. Body and light carbonation.

Oh look! Another Ontario session IPA. Tastes of goose berries & sweet malt & green hops & lots of water. Lacks balance. Lacks purpose. Like most suburbs, it’s just not well made or interesting. With such a glut of this style in the market (5 years behind like usual) the math tells us that only a few of these session IPAs are worth the purchase. This isn’t one of them. Yawn.
