4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Arrow and Loon.
Appearance: Pours a deep amber colour with a finger or so of white head. Average retention and a fair amount of lacing.
Malt, grass and hops.
Malt, hops, hint of caramel.
Mouthfeel: Average viscosity and carbonation.
Overall: I can’t believe I haven’t rated this already. I like the good malt/hop balance on this one. While I tend to prefer the speciality beers that Flying Monkeys produces, this is a great go to beer available year round that always comes through.

Cuerpo moderado, gas perfecto. Final amargo, y con mucho de todo. Grande sin necesidad de mucha graduación.

Finally getting around to rating this. Poured into a shaker, deep orange in colour with a bright head that lasts and gives good lacing. Aromas of citrus, bitter hops and a slight maltiness. Taste is bitter-sweet, leaning strongly to the bitter side. Finishes clean and crisp with just enough lingering bitterness. This is a constant in my beer fridge, I could drink this all day long. Really good, emminently sessionable beer.

One of the best looking beers I’ve seen in a while, very stable head, creamy, red glowing. This translates to a great smooth body, mouth feel that is so creamy it’s almost not a pale ale any more. Certainly not pale are the used malts, rather biscuit, toasty and caramel. Very nice indeed. Hop aroma is perhaps somewhat dimmed, helped by the darker hop varieties used which are piney rather than floral, but the taste gets back with a lovely bitterness and long dry ending. Prototypical American fermentation, great and not (too) clean as it’s far from boring. I really enjoyed this beer, very well made and great recipe. Not necessarily extreme, but super smooth and tasty. Yum! (Bottle from Saveur Bière)
