Heeding a chorus of voices crying for a dark roasty thing with lots of west coast hops and a higher ABV, we summoned Netherworld from the chaotic flipside of the brewhouse where hybrid is the norm and nothing is ordinary. Hovering just this side of evil, in the right hands, our «Cascadian Dark Ale» is bizarrely nice with its own entrancing mojo. However, watch out for those who refuse to see the darkness.

Quick dissipating head atop an opaque body. Nose of ashtray. Good hop bitterness, drips of coffee and cigarettes. Pretty decent. Purchased at Spinnakers Spirit Merchants James Bay for $2.80.

from la Mise en Bière - almost black beer with a poor foam left; roasted aroma of cacao, black cherries and licorice; full-bodied, tasty and quite thick; moderate carbonation and fairly bitter; long earthy roasted chocolatey finish with notes of nuts

Dark Ale. Belle couleur et peu de mousse. Parfum légèrement torréfié (bon j’ai la crève). Entrée de bouche agréable et fin de bouche salivante. Houblons puissants et aromatiques. Bon équilibre mais manque peu être un peu de caractère.

Dark mahogany color with rich beige head with high retention. Amazing label. Aroma of choclate, roasted coffee and vanilla, with pine and herbal notes. Body is light to medium, a bit weak for me. Taste follows the aroma, with espresso coffee and cocoa, but also pine and citrus fruits. Good bitterness on the aftertaste.
