Heeding a chorus of voices crying for a dark roasty thing with lots of west coast hops and a higher ABV, we summoned Netherworld from the chaotic flipside of the brewhouse where hybrid is the norm and nothing is ordinary. Hovering just this side of evil, in the right hands, our «Cascadian Dark Ale» is bizarrely nice with its own entrancing mojo. However, watch out for those who refuse to see the darkness.

Aroma - alcohol and big hops and roasted barley Appearance - the body is a clean cola color. The head is beige and about 2" and tight. Very slowly settle. Good lacing. Taste - mix of dark roasted barley and Cascade, Centennial, and Columbus hops. Both pined, pungent, and oiled. Palate - medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, astringent finish

Se me queda corta, con poco sabor. El aroma apunta más de lo que se tiene después. Interesante nada más.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a medium sized foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was roasty, bitter and had a moderate floral hop presence. The flavor was bitter and roasty with notes of black food coloring and strong floral hops. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.

Roasty and toasty, char and toast. Some bitterness as the hops come through in the finish. Fairly dry overall.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s place. 7/1/2015. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. Reddy brown coloured pour clear, halo of light an head. Aroma is nutty brown bread, floral, slightly citrus, perfume. Flavour is composed of toasted brown bread, pine hop, apple, toasted grainy. Mellow woody piney hop. Highish carbonation, grainy, dry finish. Good.

Bottle share, thanks to Leighton. As ’Flying Monkeys Netherworld’, 6%. The label is ... colourful. Very dark reddy brown, opaque, decent foamy tan head, light lacing. Aroma is fudgey, pine, some jammy fruit. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is salty, pine, mint, touch of booze, resinous hops. Good BIPA.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours clear deep red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is bitter - sweet, juicy, burnt pine, toffee, dried fruits, raisin, burnt fruit cake, liquorice and aniseed. The taste is bitter, toasty, charred wood, grapefruit, bitter orange, peppery spice, roasted malt and a touch of cardboard with a linger bitter / charred finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A touch to raw and charred for it to really sing. Decent anyhow.
