Heeding a chorus of voices crying for a dark roasty thing with lots of west coast hops and a higher ABV, we summoned Netherworld from the chaotic flipside of the brewhouse where hybrid is the norm and nothing is ordinary. Hovering just this side of evil, in the right hands, our «Cascadian Dark Ale» is bizarrely nice with its own entrancing mojo. However, watch out for those who refuse to see the darkness.

Pours a dark brown with a long-lasting white head and some lacing. Aroma is rye (am I the only one who thinks this was brewed with rye?), earthy hops, grapefruit, and some roast. Flavor is roast, chocolate, earthy hops, and rye. Has a good dose of bitterness. Very enjoyable.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2015 12 oz bottle in Columbus Ohio. Pours dark but clear mahogany with a durable tan head. Mild malty aroma strengthens with warming. A faint hint of spices. Flavor: about equal doses of hops and malts. The malts have sweet, toffee and dark roasted grain aspects. O: recommended.

At first sniff I had to remind myself this is not a stout but a dark ale. The coffee aroma is present and the color is very dark. A little surprised the beer did not hold its head very long. The taste was bitter but very palatable.

Hop dominated nose. Piney. Oily full palate. Minty taste after hop bite. Dark pour. Very little Porter or dark side to netherworld.

Botella.

Message de la capsule: In heaven there is no beer, so drink some now while you are here !

Negra rojiza casi opaca. Abunadante espuma beige.
