COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heeding a chorus of voices crying for a dark roasty thing with lots of west coast hops and a higher ABV, we summoned Netherworld from the chaotic flipside of the brewhouse where hybrid is the norm and nothing is ordinary. Hovering just this side of evil, in the right hands, our «Cascadian Dark Ale» is bizarrely nice with its own entrancing mojo. However, watch out for those who refuse to see the darkness.

Bottle thanks to Deyholla. Deep brown pour with a small head. Nose of caramel, ashy toast. Flavor is moderately bitter, dry finish. Grass and caramel. Easy going, straightforward. Medium body, active carb.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has musty dark grains with a decent amount of pine and a light earthiness underlying. Flavor has earthy pine notes up front with a mild dark grain backbone that has a touch of roasted malts.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear deep reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Great dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Incredible appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted bread, light smoke/char, floral, grass, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate roast/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted bread, light smoke/char, floral, grass, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind and roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange rind, pine, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, light smoke/char, and floral/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate roast/bready malt flavors; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and no astringent flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, resinous/sticky, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent black IPA style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate roast/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Sample from a tap. Pours a dark brown with t thin tan head. Aroma of dark malts and coffee. Medium body. Flavor is mostly dark bitter chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Leaves a very dry and harsh aftertaste in your mouth. Not really that enjoyable. Might have been better if it was a little smoother.

Dark ruby rich colour. Small brownish head of small tight bubbles. Strong chocolate aroma, neat licorice flavour, lingering bitterness and long lasting complex profile.
