3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml brown bottle. Dark brown pour, dense dark beige foam with a rocky top. Patchy but long lasting lace. Nose has grapefruit, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Taste has dark chocolate and bitter coffee with grapefruity hops. Some coffee in the aftertaste, roasty, citrusy notes linger. Nice late bitterness. Soft bodied, mild carbonation, balanced and easy to session. Will enjoy drinking through 5 more of these...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml bottle. Pours nearly black with lots of foamy chocolate milk head that leaves a little lace. I’m not usually a big fan of the black IPA style but the nose on this is fantastic. Sprucy hops and chocolate on the nose with a little citrus and coffee on the edges. Coffee comes out a lot more on the palate but it’s separate from the hops that are present and accounted for with a nice citrusy burst on the mid-palate. Much better than I expected since I wasn’t a big fan of their other brews.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A good beer overall. The pours is a purely opaque dark brown with a thin finger of light beige head. The nose is sweet and fruity at first with grapefruit but then robust and well roasted. Notes of chocolate and coffee grounds in the middle with a hint of grapefruit and resin. The finish is quite dry and robustly astringent. Overall, a good CDA!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours deep, dark brown with lots of almost creamy tan head. Aroma of fruity hop, coffee, chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is equal parts sweet and bitter, entirely delicious. Medium-bodied and bordering on thick. A rare style for Ontario, this is a well put together Cascadian Dark.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Very dark brown with a persistent grey-beige head. Aroma is equally hoppy and roasty, quite nice but kind of tame. The flavour profile is led by hard roast and caramel, with light citrus hops coming in to finish things off (more tangelo or mandarin than grapefruit). This didn’t seem all that complex or assertive, and there was an annoying dusty/powdery thing happening in the mid-palate that became increasingly distracting in a bad way. Still enjoyed it in the end, but it didn’t blow me away.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Interesting beer, definite grapefruit/cascade on the nose with a heavy hint of roastyness, appearance is dark ruby red, definitely unfiltered, lost appearance marks for unsavory little flecks of hops. Light to medium-bodied for a dark ale, roasty, hints of coffee, caramel, cocoa and oak, piney and citrus-like on the hop end, comes together quite well actually.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Once again, first I have to take a few seconds to admire the amazing artwork on the botte. Okay done, now we have a 355ml bottle which pours a dark amber color with a 2 finger off-white head that retains well and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is light grapefruit with some roasted grains and hints of caramel and chocolate. Taste is light grapefruit bitterness with some caramel malty sweetness and a roasted barley bitterness as well. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation providing a pleasant feeling on the palate. A very nice done beer and look forward to more in the near future.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle. Pours a dark ruby brown (Lovibond 35). Small head becomes lace quickly. Smells of grapefruit and fresh cut grass. Imagine my surprise at tasting the same! Medium to low carbonation. Not as bitter as their other offerings which means, for me, it's their best one so far. Actually, having bought 6 bottles, I've developed a slight appreciation for the IPA. It has it's place. This is a decent brew.
