COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Holy Hop, Batman, this beer has aroma." Hops are casted nine different times, itís a breath-deep-and-shudder-with-pleasure kind of scent thatís all from the Citra hops. With a high alpha acid of 11%, Citra has a cacauphony of flavours and aromas --Citrus, passion fruit, grapefruit, lime, melon, lychee fruit, pineapple, mango, and papaya Ė and dominates this beer.

Smashbombs olfactory tropical explosion shockwaves your face every time you lift the meringue foam towards you. Itís like the ecru-coloured top of a beer pie before it gives up and grips the glass. You can see the Victory maltís signature in the amber lights in what is primarily a deep golden beer. And, yes, donít be fooled --thereís malt going on here, too, as youíll see in the firey body of this ale that makes Smashbomb Atomic look like it radiates its own energy.

With the first taste, Smashbombís 70 IBUs are pronounced. This brew is a little bitter, but bitter like a grapefruit with three tablespoons of sugar on top. Itís also incredibly drinkable. The oddity thatíll keep you tipping the glass is that as this citrus peel front subsides, you actually gleen the sweet flavours of the Victory and Crystal malts. Then, as the bread-puddiní bicuity sweetness of the malts are chased by the dry, tropical flavour of Citra and the fruit punch bouquet is all in your face with each sip, itís all is so damn intriguing, youíll be driven to keep on sampling...and sampling.

Growler from Save On. Copper with ring and lace. Biscuity and citrus aroma. Biscuity crackery malts without a lot of fruity sweetness. Nice dry assertive citrus rind and woody finish. Carbo accentuates the hops. Excellent. More.

Cask pour at victory cafe while waiting for Janet is sunburst orange with a thin soapy cap. Have had this in bottle many times in my pre-ratebeer days & do find this cask pour to be a different beast altogether. The low carbonation gives this an interesting interpretation, an almost non-atomic feel. This is a great ipa with punchy hops & even if it doesnít add up to the Great Lakes guest tap I had prior its still damn fine.

12oz bottle. A dark amber with one finger of head. The aroma wasnít as overpowering as I expected. Smells of mango, pine and grapefruit. A sweet taste with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Light body and little carbonation on the palate. An above average beer and my first IPA from Canada.

Pours a lightly hazy medium copper with a orange hue and a small off white head that leaves some spotty lace. Aroma is quite pleasant... Sweet crystal malt, passionfruit, tropical fruit, mango, sweet candy and a light bit of toast. Taste is sweet crystal malts balanced well with flavors of mango, tropical fruit, light toffee and some resinous hops. Bitterness really packs a punch on the finish and unfortunately this great beer finishes a bit astringent and makes is slightly unpleasant. Other than that this is an excellent ipa.

Très bon nez houblonné. Belle couleur ambrée. En bouche, assez typique des IPA, on sent bien le houblon, un peu l'alcool. La finale persiste assez longtemps sans pour autant dévoiler d'autres arômes. Bonne bière somme toute ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

quite dense stable slight beige head that disappears with foamhead and structured lacing. orangeblonde colour. aroma is grassy, pine, passionfruit, hop. taste like aroma with long bitter finish. medium body and carbonation. bit thin/watery mouthfeel. did like the idea of putting text inside the bottlecap, quite original. bottle 35.5 cl

Smells of lime & oranges. Fresh at first followed by a load if hops but not overly so. A great beer verging on imperial but without tempting to overload the alcohol. Rated by BrewTom

Bottle. Pours a clear light amber with a thin white head, some hop flakes at the bottom. Moderate carbonation. Active hoppy citrus aroma. Taste is bitter and hoppy, notes of citrus and some herbs. Finishes to a citrus hop bitterness, some grass. Pretty good.

Bottle. Cloudy, dark orange-amber pour. Quite aromatic, with lots of hoppy citrus, pineapple and some caramel. Flavour is hop bitterness with a good amount of malt coming through underneath. Lots of citrus and some nice biscuit notes. A little thin on the finish, but a great IPA overall.

Hazy dark amber with a large big-bubbled head, swirls of lace. The aroma is a good combo of hop and malt, taste is varied: with a sip, hops quickly dominate. With a large swallow, malt takes the opening, yields to hops, reasserts itself. The hops are quite dry on the roof of the mouth, which allows a little malt to emerge at the far end. Overall, an excellent brew, balanced and bold.
