"Holy Hop, Batman, this beer has aroma." Hops are casted nine different times, itís a breath-deep-and-shudder-with-pleasure kind of scent thatís all from the Citra hops. With a high alpha acid of 11%, Citra has a cacauphony of flavours and aromas --Citrus, passion fruit, grapefruit, lime, melon, lychee fruit, pineapple, mango, and papaya Ė and dominates this beer.

Smashbombs olfactory tropical explosion shockwaves your face every time you lift the meringue foam towards you. Itís like the ecru-coloured top of a beer pie before it gives up and grips the glass. You can see the Victory maltís signature in the amber lights in what is primarily a deep golden beer. And, yes, donít be fooled --thereís malt going on here, too, as youíll see in the firey body of this ale that makes Smashbomb Atomic look like it radiates its own energy.

With the first taste, Smashbombís 70 IBUs are pronounced. This brew is a little bitter, but bitter like a grapefruit with three tablespoons of sugar on top. Itís also incredibly drinkable. The oddity thatíll keep you tipping the glass is that as this citrus peel front subsides, you actually gleen the sweet flavours of the Victory and Crystal malts. Then, as the bread-puddiní bicuity sweetness of the malts are chased by the dry, tropical flavour of Citra and the fruit punch bouquet is all in your face with each sip, itís all is so damn intriguing, youíll be driven to keep on sampling...and sampling.

Tried this on tap at Cíest What. Thank you server person for recommending it! Very nice gold amber with good lacing. Aroma is piney resin with citrus blend. I smelled the beer five times before I even took a sip. Smells like hoppy heaven. Taste is medium-heavy bitter. Mouthfeel is nice and sharp. Good aftertaste. Glad it was my last beer of the night. Overall, spectacular!

bottle. hazy orange with small white head. bready, graham cracker nose. iím typically not a fan of victory malt, but when its matched with enough sweet crystal malt it can be great. this beer has a nice caramel and toast malt base with an interesting, but not over the top, hop note. not a hop bomb. very balanced with a medium body and light sweetness.

Bottle at home, 355 ml, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 6% Pours a crystal clear beer, deep orange golden in colour, with two fingers of off-white head. Good retention, big wall of lacing left around the glass. Aroma is fruity, with tropical fruits, citrus, orange peel, little mango. Taste of light malts, fruity and very bitter, pine, citrus, a bit of orange peel again. Very intense bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium thin body, good carbonation, very dry on the palate. Wow, this was far better than what I was expecting, crisp IPA with very high drinkability.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass a clear golden orange with a light beige head that stays around for a while. Aroma is very citrusy-fruity-little resin but some interesting sweetness. Flavor is bitter grapefruit with a strong touch of fruity sugar. Thereís some biscuit going on here with a great in your face citrus peel finish. Quite impressive. The 70 IBUís flies well here.
