COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Holy Hop, Batman, this beer has aroma." Hops are casted nine different times, itís a breath-deep-and-shudder-with-pleasure kind of scent thatís all from the Citra hops. With a high alpha acid of 11%, Citra has a cacauphony of flavours and aromas --Citrus, passion fruit, grapefruit, lime, melon, lychee fruit, pineapple, mango, and papaya Ė and dominates this beer.

Smashbombs olfactory tropical explosion shockwaves your face every time you lift the meringue foam towards you. Itís like the ecru-coloured top of a beer pie before it gives up and grips the glass. You can see the Victory maltís signature in the amber lights in what is primarily a deep golden beer. And, yes, donít be fooled --thereís malt going on here, too, as youíll see in the firey body of this ale that makes Smashbomb Atomic look like it radiates its own energy.

With the first taste, Smashbombís 70 IBUs are pronounced. This brew is a little bitter, but bitter like a grapefruit with three tablespoons of sugar on top. Itís also incredibly drinkable. The oddity thatíll keep you tipping the glass is that as this citrus peel front subsides, you actually gleen the sweet flavours of the Victory and Crystal malts. Then, as the bread-puddiní bicuity sweetness of the malts are chased by the dry, tropical flavour of Citra and the fruit punch bouquet is all in your face with each sip, itís all is so damn intriguing, youíll be driven to keep on sampling...and sampling.

Bottle shared at Campground Brewdown. Poured a thinner looking hazy amber with a smaller off white head. Aroma of harsh wet hops, hint of alcohol, wet burnt toast and some metallic copper. Medium body with average carbonation that is on the stingy side. Flavor was grains, dry hop comes and some grassy hops. Meh, okay.

Light orange in colour, with a minimal white head. Aroma is hoppy and floral. Taste matches with hints of citrus. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Color is light carrot orange. Rocky-top head. It all dissolves into a kind of slushy mess. Aroma is beautiful pine-oil hops, with a spicy malt that seems like rye. Coriander and a very prickly orange peel. A hint of finished wood. Flavors are a hefty dose of citrus rind, with a very prickly, spicy rye-ish base. There is a musty earthiness to the flavor. The orange is strong. There is a creaminess to the feel. Itís well balanced, with prickly malts, citrusy hops and a lot of strong flavors.

Fly my pretty beer, into my awaiting yap! Copper as a new penny with a great off-white head. Huge citrus and pine hoppy notes paired with balancing act caramel and light cereal tempt the already tempted nostrils. Taste is surprisingly maltier than expected but make not a mistake, this is a hop-forward sensory assault. Nice crisp but juicy feel make this FM offering a winner. Hop on!

Very good. Very hoppy. Itís atomically hoppy. Not much of a malt background but itís still nicely balanced out with the hops.

draught@Erzbierschof - pretty clear blond-bronze beer with a persistent and solid white foam; correct lacework; aroma of litchies and candied fruits, hints of jasmin; medium to full malt body; fairly bitter, spicy and grassy hoppiness in a very yeasty and dusty finish

A very good IPA, banger even. Poured a light clear amber with very small head. Aroma was of pine, resin, and tropical fruits. Tasted of pine, caramel, toffee, and resin all in perfect balance of one another. Had a smooth medium body with low carbonation. Had a very nice pine bitterness and after taste. Very worthy IPA.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/3/2014. Pours hazy orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, and floral/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, pine, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPA. Good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours a clear sparkling light amber with a frothy white head that leaves nice lacings. Aromas of grapefruit and passion fruit backed by malty caramel and fresh bread notes are well present. Wow, strong resin bitterness dominates the taste and stays in the mouth forever. This beer is all about hops! The tropical fruits and grains back the bitterness. The fruit character of this beer gets stronger with each sip. Good hop-forward rather dry IPA!

Poured from bottle a gold and medium amber colour with an initial thick white head. Light citrus and hoppy aroma. Not a heavy IPA, but sweet flavor of hops. A very drinkable brew.
