Beer Review Flying Monkeys - The Chocolate Manifesto Triple Chocolate Milk Stout. Wow you can really smell the chocolate as soon as the top was popped. Reminded me of the local chocolate factory (yes we had a chocolate factory here). Very dark pour with a moca head. Man I can still really smell it as I’m typing this and my glass is more then arm’s length away. Tadtes just like it smells. Nice dark thick and reminiscent of good Green & Black dark chocolate. There’s a smokinees in there as well. This is good. Damn good. I think I will be going back to ghe LCBO tomorrow to pick up any bottles they have left.

Wow! An awesome stout! Was going to say it shouldn’t be classified as an imperial stout, then noticed the ABV. Did NOT taste that big at all. Aroma was perfect milky and chocolaty. Smelled exactly like that drink Yoo Hoo. One of the best smelling beers I’ve had in recent memory. Pour was a nice deep dark brown/near black with a light tan film for a head. Taste was big and chewy. Heavy on the milk chocolate with vanilla and and milk lending a nice sweet flavor but nowhere near cloying. I honestly thought the beer was around 6-7%. So delicious. Medium carbonation.

750ml bottle. Poured a black color with a tan head. Very chocolaty. Yes this one was all about the chocolate ... knowing that going in, and it won’t disappoint. Want more than just chocolate, then skip it! I enjoyed it.

Brownie nose. Dark red brown appearance. Dark chocolate brown batter flavor. Very good. But very glad it’s a small pour

Pours clear (flashlight confirmed) ruby brown with two fingers of dense tan head, excellent retention and lacing. (4/5) Nose is chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. (8/10) Taste is moderately strong sweet, mild bitter. (8/10) Medium to full body, moderate to low carbonation, slightly oily and bittersweet creamy finish. (4/5) What an extremely silly beer. Except, where it isn’t. Which is just about everywhere. Subtle? No. Bombastic? Yes. Good? Oh my goodness gracious yes. Think a slightly runny Hershey syrup milkshake, that makes the room get a little wobbly after a bit. (The ABV is seriously well-hidden, which for a double-digit product, is no mean feat. It’s not un-boozy - but it’s nowhere near as boozy as it should be.) Yes, it’s over the top and sweet. Yes, it’s one-dimensional. But, that dimension is chocolate. Mmmm... the Chocolate Dimension… And, it’s a milk stout (in addition to “chocolate" and “imperial” - how many adjectives can you add to a given style, anyway?), so there’s a lactose creaminess that plays well with the chocolate. I know some folks don’t like this. Those folks are wrong. (16/20)

Deep black pour with a thick white head. The aroma is great. Loads of Hershey like syrup that brings back memories of the BNL beer. Syrupy and sweet which actually helps enhance the fudginess of this beer. Bitterness is just right to balance and it’s a pretty pleasant brew. Glad I’ve only got 4 oz to get through though.

Cervesa amb total protagonisme per la xocolata tant en gust com al aroma. Cerveza con un total protagonismo por el chocolate tanto en sabor como en el aroma.

January 2, 2015 - on draught at WVRST. Black with a pretty solid creamy brown head, looks good, fairly thick too. Tasting notes ... look, this is CHOCOLATE; dark chocolate, milk chocolate, choc milk, After Eight mint chocolate, a little chocolate liqueur (oh yes, there’s alcohol here) ... roasty, strong and bracing - hell yeah it’s one-dimensional - did you notice the name? the box? Anyway, not a thick-bodied as I expected, but decent - a little undercarbonated, and it finishes like, well, chocolate milk - but if you go in with the right expectation, it delivers. My wife loved it.

750 mL bottle. The pour is a nice dark brown/black color with a large pillowy khaki head and a great sticky amount of lace. The aroma heavy chocolate. It's almost like a chocolate milk. The roast takes a back seat to the chocolate dominance. The flavor starts out a little weird, but then takes the chocolate milk back on. It's like chocolate syrup. Only a little thinner. The mouth feel is oily and slick with no real body to it at all. The aftertaste is lingeringly chocolatey and nice, but thin and quick fading. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
