The bottle I had was labeled "Doble Uruguaya" Pours a very pale yellow color with a dissapearing white head. It simply has a corn aroma and a slightly sweet corn syrup flavor. Some stale malt, and fizzy body. There’s a slight metallic flavor in the finish. A typical pale lager profile.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 faroeviking (8805) - HAITI - DEC 30, 2006
Bottle. Golden clear colour with a nice medium white head. Aroma of malt with some sweetness and a little hoppiness to it. Flavour is fresh with malts and hops, grains, little touch of sweetness and a nice though bit weak hoppy aftertaste. the 2nd best beer I tasted in Uruguay out of the 4.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 madsberg (7570) - Søborg, DENMARK - FEB 13, 2005
Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Is grassy sweet and light fruity. Very poor made standard pale lager. Nothing what so ever is going on in the end. At least its a new country.

Uruguay seems to produce four beers (god knows, I looked for more and came up dry in both Colonia and Montevideo): they are all very similar pale lagers. FNC Pilsen has a hint of bitter hops to differentiate it from its Uruguayan cousins. Do not buy Uruguayan beer looking for anything other than a standard pale lager. Usually in HUGE 1 liter bottles. Pilsen is the easiest to find of all Uruguayan beers. I liked it the least.
