As for Hopfelia, it’s no more an Herb Ale but one of first Black I.P.A. brewed in Italy. Great body dispite low alcohol, has a very pleasant balance between roastyness, chocolate and liquorice malts and a massive presence of American hops, mostly Simcoe, dominating the aroma. Bottle, a friend brought it back from Italy. It poured a very dark hazy brown liquid with a big dirty white head. First thing that attacks me is a strong smell of cow piss and other farm smells. It also had some sour fruits and berries. A weird beer that I find hard to rate. My beer drinking buddies didn’t like it, but I felt it was drinkable.
