3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mdb1 (2) - Pawlet, Vermont, USA - JAN 20, 2013The aroma makes the beer on this one. The beer pours an dark amber with a somewhat sweet taste, due to the maple syrup and slight bitterness from the Vermont grown hops makes this beer very drinkable. Even with an ABV at 7%, it is hardly noticeable. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone that appreciates a nice brown ale.

Not that the illustrious first rater on this beer didn’t do it justice, but I’ll try to legitimize it a bit. Bottle shared by urbancaver- thanks, Cam! Pours an amber color, not really brown, with a small beige head. Aroma of toast, nuts, earth, wet leaves. The flavor also had toasted malts, earth, leaves, and nuts, but even more hoppiness than the nose let on. Light-medium bodied, with an earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Good, hoppy brown ale.

Excellent flavor for a dark beer. Smooth, with a faint maple flavor, no unpleasant aftertaste.
