2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 22, 2012
Originally rated June 2005. This blueberry ale pours a deep red-purple colour with a fizzy head that dissipates very quickly. Tinny lively bubble carbonation. No lace. Smells like mead. Watery mouthfeel. Taste weird. Slightly sour, lingering aftertaste. Reminds me of outdated red wine. As a fruit beer lover, I say this is the last of me trying this brew. Thought I remembered liking this beer in a pub once... must of been a dream.

Bouteille 341 ml. 5%. Couleur rose foncé. Arôme un peu de fruit, peu de bleuet. Goût de malt, pas trop de bleuets. Finale avec un peu d’amertume de fruits. Correct.

pours pale golden, orange-red tint, with a disappearing white head. fruity aroma - and not that much coming from blueberries (i guess it’s a good thing). faint malts, light herbal-citrusy hopping. light body, aggressive carbonation. not too bad.

341 ml bottle from Trappe a Fromage, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. JN20/09.
App.: Clear, very purple with slight brown hues, like old grape juice, no head.
Aroma: Yeast and fermented grape juice, some cereal and light malt, definitely fruity, blueberry-esque, a bit like old red wine.
Palate: Medium-ish body, moderate effervescence.
Flav.: Like the nose...kinda old red wine, sort of blueberry-ish, some light malts, lightly tangy; dry , lightly tangy, no bitterness, some light, vague fruitiness.
Fruity alco-pop. No thanks.

Tres bonne biere de ble au bleuets. Belle couleur roser-violet, claire avec un collet legerement teinter qui dure. Faire attention, on peu passer au travers d un 6-pack tres facilement!
Very good blueberry wheat ale. Pink-violet color, clear with a lighly pink-tainted log-lasting head. Warning! you could drink through a 6-pack quite easily!

12oz bottle bought in Montreal. Despite some of the lower ratings (something fruit beers always tend to attract from those who are against the style), this beer is really nicely done. The bright deep murky red jumps out at you. The blueberry taste comes across very subtly and naturally, no artificial sugar taste going on. Crisp and dry, but finishes quite refreshingly. Great beer.

Deep red/purple in colour with a thick dissipating lacing head. Very impressive for a fruit beer. Smells just like wild blueberries in the field, yum! A little fizzy body and a little thin with a nice blueberry taste and a slightly bitter finish, just like you’d expect from blueberries. This is one of the better blueberry beer I’ve tried.
