Pours nearly black with a tan head. Very little in the way of aroma, but flavors of roasted to burnt coffee.

Can thanks to Travlr: Poured a black with red edges and a tan head. Aroma is light roast and licorice. Very rich robust chocolate, roasted malts and dry finish.

From a can. A deep brown body with a tan head that had some retention and a little bit of lace. Aroma had a nice roast coffee quality, a little bit of cocoa and a touch of molasses. Flavor was heavy on the roasted malts, the cocoa seemed to come through stronger and there was a hint of smoke in the after taste. Mouth feel was a little on the light side for a porter, but the smoothness made up for it.

Draught at Oasis, 4/27/14
Dark ebony body is near opaque with a tan head atop that sits at cover.
Light roasted tinges dot the chocolatey-fudgey landscape while some vanilla and fresh, juicy green hops are moderately done and aromatic. Deeper, more dry, earthy coffee notes are noted on the backend and overall the aroma strength is fairly low. What is there is pleasant and there are no overt flaws or alcohol.
Pretty stiff crunchy coffee, bitter roast and lightly bitter hops all jump right in the mouth, as light vanilla-fudge sweetness seeks to bring things to balance. I’m not sure that it does, though what it leaves behind is a very, very dry, rather roasty example of the style with moderate carbonation and more apparent wateriness with the relative lack of sugars/body. It’s not weak in body by any means, but for how easily it drinks based on the texture, it’s certainly very roasty and challenging in that sense. Acidity from the roast and to a less extent, the hops, builds up on the finish. Certainly not a session beer here....Light licorice, coffee and earthy, crunchy black malts linger on....

UPDATED: APR 10, 2014 On tap at Doherty’s Ale House Warwick 4/7/14 Solid dark brown/black small tan head. Chocolate and roast with hints of caramel and earth. Decent porter.

4/10/14 Can brought back from OSHC. Pours a solid black color with a smallish tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Aromas of bitter dark chocolate with a hint of caramel. Light burnt and molasses notes with a heavy earthy hop presence. The flavor mimics the aroma quite well. Bitter dark chocolate with caramel and molasses as well as hints of dark fruits. Solid earthy hop bitterness and flavor. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick bubbly mouthfeel. I quite enjoyed this beer at home, great can.

A perfectly decent porter, though not terribly exciting or groundbreaking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from Georgio’s, Billerica, MA. A lively pour of an opaque pitch black beer with a billowing light tan head; there’s a rich chocolate aroma; in the mouth it’s smooth with a caramel and coffee taste; then a dry and fruity finish. A decent porter.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2014 pours from can stout black color. wasnt expecting much but was surprised to find very bold roasted malty flavour with strong coffee and burnt carmal undertones. slight bitter alcohol aftertaste, overall very good beer would recommend. a lot better than their golden ale I thought. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This poured a medium to darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of light roast and cola. Falvor was similar, mild roast, caramel, grapes, a bit off and bland.

12oz can pours a watery black with some spitty, off white head. Nose is odd, trashy, dirty coffee pot, soil, malt, molasses. Flavor is a little better, malty, bready, toast, milk chocolate. Dry finish.
