3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Mochaccino flavors are surrounded by roastiness and molasses before leading to a raisin-y finish licked by hop and malt bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the brown-edged black.
-Alcohol heat works well with the finishing bitterness.
-Green hops are also found within.
-This goes well with wasabi-flavored dark chocolate (Lindt).

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2014 Opaque, lacy.
Very aromatic, perhaps cheesy but not exactly.
Very full body, matching flavor intensity, smooth, almost oily texture, just right alcohol heat and carbonation, long palate, classy finish.
Bitter but perfectly balanced by sweetness and a hint of acidity, less than the typical stout.
Roast flavors, more like bittersweet chocolate than coffee, yeasty.
As good as any stout can get.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Battleship. Pours a black motor oil color with a thin caramel colored head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate, toastiness and a little smoke. Flavor is of roasted malts, bitter dark chocolates, smoke, booze. Seems like it might still have been a little hot.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle @ Barley’s during the RBWG opening ceremonies. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. Strong yoghurt on the nose. Uh oh. Accents of oatmeal raisin cookie, chocolate. A bit tart. The taste is tart, some soured cream. Chocolate, mild coffee. oatmeal cookies. Full body, moderate carbonation. Clearly something’s amiss.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared at Barley’s during the opening dinner of RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours black-brown with a beige foam head. So so stuff overall. Good cocoa, faint tangy berries, heavy charred malts. Medium to full in body with fine carbonation. Warming finish with bitter char and further baking cocoa. OK.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark, thick black with a small dark brown head. Smells nicely of oats, chocolate and roasted malt, nothing new. Taste is somewhat bitter and nicely and very well hides the super high abv. Notes of chocolate, roasted oats balance out the beer well which is plenty malty and bitter. Thick bodied with some but not heavy carbonation. Probably served it a little colder than I should have. Still shows very nice I would imagine the flavors would show even more warm, and maybe the alcohol would reveal itself. Very well done Russian Imperial Stout by Foolproof way to go RI.
