Bottle shared at GTMW line, very nice! Pours black with a thick brown head and lacing, the aroma is really sweet but has a ton of chocolate, fudge and vanilla all together, some of the oak and bourbon comes through as well, the flavor has a ton of chocolate and vanilla, the bourbon really shows as well but it’s really smooth and well done, really good stuff, enjoyed this a ton.

Midnight black, alcohol legs, minimal head. Smells amazing. Incredibly sweet. Loads of vanilla and brown sugar with cane sugar. Very decadent like a chocolate mousse pie. Taste is extremely sweet. Muted bitterness, very little booze. Vanilla is prevalent with tons of smoky charred oak. Very nice but not as bourbon heavy as I expected.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Butters (3318) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Sampled at the Raleigh Rare and Vintage Festival 2013. Now this was very delicious. Clear very dark brown pour with no percievable head. Sweet bourbon and boozy vanilla notes compliment the woodiness quite nicely. This is a perfect example of how barrel aging is suppose to be done!

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2013 22 oz. bottle, sent from Pabobcat (thanks a lot, David), pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is very complex, with moderate bourbon, cocoa nibs, an vanilla - the bourbon quality is what amplifies the complexity. Flavour is extremely complex, with lush, deep bourbon barrels from the Pappy Van Winkle barrels, cocoa nibs, a touch of vanilla, an low-to-moderate sweetness. Quite rich and deep, with extremely high complexity. Fairly medium bodied for a big BA impie stout, though very full flavoured - could use some more body but that is a very minor complaint. Really reminds of Goose Island Rare BCS, as that’s the only other Pappy barrel stout I’ve had thus far, though this one isn’t as complex. A most fantastic, highly complex sipper.

Bomber via Lubiere (merciful), shared with Mike et al, cool, tulip. Very deep brown with a so-so mocha head. Huge chocolate, molasses, licorice, vanilla, some bourbon and wood character, inky, thick and ricb, kinda fruity, so big, a little alcohol. Medium-full body with fine effervescence. Quite a bit of bourbon and wood, molasses, tons of chocolate, licorice and molasses notes, some booze, really thick and rich; sweet with decent bitterness, a fair bit of warm, almost stinging alcohol and a long, molasses, slightly briney finish.

Very very well balanced. Little to no head. Aroma is hypnotizing and the bourbon flavor will age well. I've got 2 that I'm gonna save for a few years.
