Served from tap at the brewpub into a Foothills shaker. This was the first glass poured off a freshly tapped keg with freshly cleaned lines. Pours dark dark brown almost black with a two finger tan head that subsides to one finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of malt, spices, and chocolate. The flavor was of cream, spices, malt, and a subtle red wine spice. It had a medium feel on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this was much nicer on tap than out of the growler I had consumed the night prior to having this one. It is a must try if you get the chance.

Black pour with a thin off white head and light lacing .... Aroma of chocolate, toffee, light vanilla and roasted malts .... Taste is of caramel, toffee, chocolate, roasted and light vanilla ..... Bourbon is light if non existent ... Light bitter bite on the back end .... Has lingering caramel, toffee and roasted malts .... Not as good as expected but solid

The bourbon barrel overwhelms all other aspects of the beer. This is basically any porter barrel aged.

Tap. The look is a nice tan head, black in color, dark look. The smell is whiskey, wood, vanilla, tannins, nuanced, good. The taste is much the same, more roasty notes, more chocolate, richer. Good beer.

Nice barrel aged porter. Dark brown color with khaki head. Nice mellow bourbon presence that works with a chocolate and brown sugar and caramel body. Medium bodied which is nice for a BA beer. Good stuff.

It pours dark brown with a tan head. It has aromas of chocolate, nuts, and bourbon. Taste is bittersweet with moderate notes of bourbon combined with chocolate and flavors of nuts. It has a medium body and some alcohol warming.

Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark brown to near black color with a large tan colored head. The aroma is full of sweet malt, cocoa and a hint of whiskey. The taste is heavy on sweet malt and caramel. A very enjoyable porter.

Dark brown body that holds up a creamy, thick, long lasting tan head. The aroma has cocoa powder, roast malt and a bit of coffee. The flavor starts with a touch of bitter roast malt, then the sweet malts provide support with chocolate and the coffee. Very solid Porter.

Bottle from 2012 thanks to JCB. Opens with a health pop. Pours deep mahogany, very large tan head that eventually dissipates into sticky clumpy residual and lacing. Aroma has notes of bourbon, roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of bourbon and not a lot else that has survived. Lightish body, high, to the point of offputting, carbonation.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with a warm, reddish hue. Lively, creamy and lacing light brown head. Very heavy Bourbon aromas, not boozy or anything, but intense. Medium-bodied, subtle roast, some vanilla and the rest is all Bourbon. Good thing I love Bourbon.... Very drinkable. 220915
