Bottle. Pours a near clear dark brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has roasted malts and creamy dark grains with a bourbon backing. Flavor is smooth with roasted malts and dark grains and just a touch of chocolate and bourbon.

bomber poured dark brown with mocha colored head...a small bit of a gusher but saved it all. good strong aroma of bourbon first off and get some chocolate and roasted malts. the flavor on the other hand is quite strong with bourbon medium bodied and strong alcohol burn on the end..most of everything is masked under the bourbon unless you know what you are looking for...do get some chocolate and malt and coffee as well...but mostly masked by bourbon.. did i say bourbon..i believe i said bourbon.

Decided to open after increasing talk that the first batch was infected. Happy to report a clean bill of health on my bottle. Lively carbonation, thin body. Tons of vanilla and bourbon. Strong oak and earth. Finish is a little weak. Overall, recommended if you’re a bourbon fan more than a porter fan. I’m happy to have a glass of it next to me on what has turned into a rainy and windy weekend.

Bottle shared at AZ crew tasting. pours dark brown, nose is mostly bourbon. tastes of bourbon, rootbeer, earth, toffee, and maybe some bubblegum. kinda overpowering on bourbon and a touch light. nice enough but just misses

Bottle from JCB - thanks! Deep brown pour with rocky, deep tan head. Monster lacing. Nice bourbon nose with coconut, oak, and some mild cocoa powder. Porter flavor is pretty overwhelmed with mostly bourbon/coconut and some bakers chocolate and tart, acidic dark fruit. Pretty thin and somewhat watery. Acidity is slightly detracting. Some beers just shouldn’t be barrel-aged.

Has a decent presence from the barrel with flavors of vanilla, caramel, and burnt sugar. However, with a thin body with a slight tart / sour flavor. Not bad, but certainly not the best barrel aged beer I’ve ever had.

Big whiskey nose. Thin brown pour with a thick creamy beige head. Taste is boozy and dominated by whiskey. No malt backbone. No balanced flavor. Needs more meat on the palate to hold up to the 20yr old whiskey barrel they aged it in.

Bourbon and elderberry nose. Hazy brown, thick tan head. Bourbon and berry flavor. Thin body. Verry berry-like for a porter, barrel aging notwithstanding.

Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is full of dark fruit, chocolate, roasted malt and alcohol. Flavor is very similar with some sweet milk chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, oak and bourbon. Medium to thick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours black with fluffy tan head. Nose and taste of oak, bourbon barrel, vanilla, roasted chocolate and alcohol soaked dark fruit. In the aroma, the notes meld together well. Taste is a bit overpowering in the bourbon - instead of adding a subtle nuisance it takes over the beer. In a bad way. Not much else going on. Very one dimensional. Body is too light for this kind of treatment.

Bottle: The aroma is heavy on the bourbon, coconut, light oak, mint, and chocolate. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a two finger beige head. A decent amount of clumpy lacing is left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate and caramel. The finish has light-moderate oak, vanilla, bourbon, plum, roasted coffee, and a touch of mint. It’s medium bodied with moderate-heavy carbonation. Overall, it’s definitely bourbon forward in the nose and a little less in the flavor, but it works...if you like bourbon. You could certainly make an argument that it’s too much bourbon.
