22 ounce bottle courtesy of jslot38, thanks! I don’t have a comparison for this one, not having tried the non-BA version. This had no head, aroma of pine and chocolate. Taste was smooth with whiskey and chocolate. Decent.

22oz courtesy of jslot38. Pours a deep red to brown with a small brown head. Aroma is green apples, acetaldehyde, green coffee, cinnamon, cloves, oxidized red apples. Taste is drying, roasty, green coffee, slightly bitter, sticky dark fruits, sweet caramel, almost nothing I would consider bourbon barrel.

22oz bottle, thanks jslot. Small tan head atop brown-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some roast, light Bourbon. Taste is moderately sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some roast, light Bourbon. Medium-full body, some stickiness.

Bottle. Pours clear black with a medium, frothy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, nutty, dark fruit), light hops (woody), and average esters (fruity) with notes of prune, bourbon-oak, vanilla, raisin, and dates. Full body, high warmth, medium carbonation, light creaminess with a drying finish.

Bottle shared by jslot38: Pours an oily opaque black with a spotty-lacing beige head. Has a lightly smoky and sweet dark caramel and chocolate nose with some plum complexity and a touch of bourbon oak. Starts with good chewy complex sweetness with some toasty caramel and vanilla with nice bourbon oak complexity before a slightly warming molten dark chocolate finish. A nice imperial stout.

Big green apple nose, some chocolate and molasses, lots of cola. The flavor is thankfully a bit better than the nose, and much better than the regular version. Lots of cola, some chocolate, a good amount of coconut bourbon. Decent.

Bottle… Pours pitch black with a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma is nutty and chocolaty with woodsy vinous notes, blueberries and a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Boozy, moderately bitter, chocolate flavor. I’m picking up more a brandy nuance than bourbon. Finishes bittersweet and a touch boozy. Bottle at Joe’s: Huge vanilla bourbon aroma with marshmallow, buttery oak, raisiny booze. Big hot body. Some soft vanilla bourbon notes, oak, and plummy character. A gentle giant.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2010 Bottle. Un-numbered. Pours a dark black with a slight tan head. Oaky is the first aroma that comes to mind. Dark chocolate, coffe, toffee, and caramel in the nose as well. Boozy in the mouth after I swish it around a bit. Fairly sweet up front. Flavor wise the cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon make their presence known. Nice blend. Very solid. Medium mouthfeel. Overall, a decently enjoyable beer but just like some other barrel aged beers, this one is a tweak or 2 away from being really good.

Pours thick inky black. Huge bourbon notes with touches of chocolate in the aroma. Big roasted grain, lots of chocolate, bourbon and wood notes all in the taste. So thick and smooth, easy to drink. The bourbon really adds a new layer to this great beer.
