22 ounce bottle pours black. Aroma is heavy chocolate and graham crackers with just a little booziness. Very sweet and malty with a nice drying finish. The chocolate in this is just superb. Very good beer.

Draft. Pours a deep brown color with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, sweet roasted malts. Flavor quite similar, with sweet roasted vanilla chocolate malts. Medium body with a lingering creamy chocolate vanilla toasty malt character. Deliciousness.

22 oz bottle. Ebony with tan froth. Nose is chocolate, banana, bourbon, vanilla, prune and molasses. Medium body with a tang and an alcohol bite. Taste is chocolate, sweet bourbon, oak, caramel and raisin. A bit heavy on the barrel but otherwise a delicious dessert sipper.

Sample @ RBWG Asheville After Party. Deep brown with a small head. Toffee and caramelized brown sugar. Not a huge amount of barrel character. Taste is of rich milk chocolate, cocoa wafers. Some vanilla and rocky road fudge. Slightly hot. Oily full body.

Bottle at the Beechner Blind Beer Bash. A smooth barrel nose, vanilla, some bourbon. Lots of chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate. Taste is like a chocolate brownie with a hint of bourbon. This one was probably one of my favorites. A subtle fruitiness as it warmed. very good.

Pour nearly black, with a small light-brown head. Aroma is pretty delicious, with plenty of bourbon to go around, vanilla, dark chocolate, wood. All the stuff you’d like a barrel aged Impy... The taste is pretty sweet, but has enough bitterness to make this very well balanced.. Medium bodied, with a semi-flat carbonation. Hot stuff, thanks to my man Brian for this bad boy.

Liked the 2013 a bit better. Hint of chocolate and I sense more hops than last release also. Still a great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours near black with a small brown head. Aromas of chocolate, bourbon, licorice caramel and oak. All being pretty restrained and ballanced. The story is the same with the taste. Very ballanced and fairly complex impression on the tongue. Mostly with the sweeter malted side domonating the picture. The mouthfeel is medium to full with a soft carbonation. Aftertaste is more bitter but not too much - sticky burnt sugars in the very end. Like it a lot, from the name to the label to the beer in th bottle. All very sexy.

Bottle - Pour a dark brown. Nice bourbon, oak, vanilla, chocolate, and coffee notes in the nose. A delicious chocolate taste w/ a nice hint of bourbon, oak, and vanilla. This is so much better than the regular version.
