22oz bottle from notes. Pours a typical oily, thick black with a sustained dark khaki head. Pleasant aroma: bittersweet chocolate, símores, vanilla, dried wood, toasted marshmallow. Light char. Flavor is full of cocoa, vanilla, wood, light char, ash with a kiss of melted chocolate. Fairly silky and creamy texture. Low carbonation with a slightly boozy finish. A simple, but well put together BA Impy. Thanks Greg!

Bomber chugged in well under 2 minutes. Poured basically black. Smelled roasty, oaky, vanilla and bourbon. Taste was sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of oak, roast, booze, marshmallow. Finished quick with some lingering barrel and sugar. Good.

2013 vintage, thanks Ryan and Co! Pours black with a frothy brown head, no retention. Aroma hits with loads of bourbon, booze soaked raisins and dark chocolate, some alcoholic fumes. Taste has a nice blend of bitter dark chocolate, bourbon, slight sweetness, peppery notes and bitterness, some roastiness and dried fruit as well. Medium body, smooth carbonation and super smooth mouth feel. Dry, peppery, bitter after taste.
Great taste but could perhaps do with some more age to mellow down the boozy aroma a bit.

Had this at the 2014 RB Pittsburgh Summer Gathering at Horny Devilís place. Actually it was after the equinox at the beginning of fall, but DILLIGAF. Big thanks to James & Michelle for hosting such a nice spread of quality beers and for this particular beer a GIANT thanks goes out to lithy. Smell of typical strong impy stout very little sign of choco. Big and black fer sure. Almost flat is my first impression. Taste is volatile chocolate but it is smooth without raising the alarm. Smooth fer sure. That alky thing hidden in there seems to be well blended in with the rest of the characteristics. Finish is high octane dark chocolate. Couldnít drink allot of these but glad to have the chance at this one.

22oz bottle pours dark oily black brown with medium small head. Nose is pretty boozy, some light dusty bitter cocoa and cake. Nose is not bad but simple and a little disappointing. Taste however redeems it with a super creamy silky light mouthfeel, rich bitter dark cocoa and boozy bourbon fluffy chocolate cake, well integrated dark spicy bourbon. Finish is lasting sticky boozy chocolate and roasty cocoa, melted hershey syrup and bourbon. Very nice.

Pours a deep rich burnt umber color with two fingers of khaki foam. Nose has loads of spicy bourbon, dark chocolate, roasted charred grain. The palate follows but the body is a bit thin and allows the heavy bourbon character to take the lead with nice round sweet chocolate cake notes to back it up ! Delicious but doubt I would seek out for another taste .

Medium body. Never very heavy, but the barrel makes it pretty boozy. This mouth feel.

"Very different from the base, though this was a 2011 (and the base we sampled side by side was a 2012). Lots of vanilla an oak, seemingly a little more chocolate even than the other bottle. This one wins out over the base in aroma and mouthfeel. Maaaaybe a touch heavy on the bourbon, but itís oh so good, and smooth as silk (iím torn between a 9 & 10 for feel). awesome brew, though because of price and/or difficulty obtaining, these may be a one timer for me. Draft. Pours a deep brown color with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, sweet roasted malts. Flavor quite similar, with sweet roasted vanilla chocolate malts. Medium body with a lingering creamy chocolate vanilla toasty malt character. Deliciousness.

22 oz bottle. Ebony with tan froth. Nose is chocolate, banana, bourbon, vanilla, prune and molasses. Medium body with a tang and an alcohol bite. Taste is chocolate, sweet bourbon, oak, caramel and raisin. A bit heavy on the barrel but otherwise a delicious dessert sipper.
