New Cream Ale Formula: Two row barley, a hint of wheat and noble hops make Carolina Blonde exactly what a craft brew American Cream Ale should be. Clean, refreshing flavor. Rich, golden color. Unmistakable smoothness. Brewed right here in North Carolina.

12oz Bottle. Thanks for sharing Rob! Lightly skunked nose backed with a hint of creamed corn. Flavors are rough. Oxidized and skunked. Very light. Not good, even for 3.8%. This kind of beer shouldn’t end up in bottles.

12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s, Chapel Hill Pours a completely clear gold with a minimal head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is mild grass, hay, and a corn sweetness. Flavor is light sweet corn with just a touch of grassy hops on the finish. Very simple session beer, perhaps a bit insipid, but the flavors are clean and it’s pretty refreshing on a hot day. Not totally my cup of tea, but this is pretty good for what it is meant to be.

Pours a macro (with a sudsy head) appearing. Aroma is a little wheaty and not much else. Flavor is a little sweet, wheat, slightly light and crazy mouthfeel for a golden beer.

Stopped by the brewpub for a beer after work last week. Wanted something light with my pub fries, so I went with this. Came out a crystal clear pale gold, with a thin white head atop. Simple grain-like scents - husk, mild pale citrus tones. Easy drinking, crisp body. Mild flavors of corn, bread, very faint and fleeting hop presence, which was expected. All-in-all, this is a nice beer. An approachable beer for the masses, and a good one to pair with some barbecue fare for the upcoming warm months.

Pours like pale urine after you have had a few, Nose is quite revolting, pungent, and grainy. Purchased from a prior beer club of the month, which reminds me why I discontinued my membership. Taste is watery and WITHOUT flavor. Nothing more to say ! Quaff Score 2 / 10

Pours a light yellow with a white head and unpleasant aroma of grain and corn. Taste is unpleasant as well, a lot of grain and corn with a bad aftertaste. Pass, flavorless and watery

Nice smooth character. The nose is a slightly sweet grass to honey. Golden, a touch hazy,, with a white foamy cap. Balanced but towards sweetness. Incredibly smooth with a medium body and a velvet mouthfeel.

Beer 43 Asheville trip - returning home at this point! Clear blonde. Aroma is lightly of pils malts. Flavor is a match, with balancing bitterness on the finish. Not a bad beer, just sort of boring. Definitely more of a blonde than a cream ale - not quite sure why they are calling it a cream ale actually.

Unfortunately, Foothills reformulation of this NC classic misses the mark. I was excited when I learned it had been redone as a Cream Ale, but this has none of the trademark creamy body or slick use of corn to keep the beer light. Instead, we got a watered-down pils with an inappropriate bitterness in the finish that really doesn’t jive with the lightness of the beer. Still, its pretty, pouring crystal clear yellow with a small but resilient head. Some minor cabbage notes in the aroma are a spoiler as well.

Draft at the Charlotte airport. It has a light clear yellow appearance with little aroma or flavor.
