COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This crisp, dry ale uses cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger brewed with real pumpkin and a blend of North American and British malts to give Momís pumpkin pie some serious competition. A fall favorite skillfully brewed by Foothills.

At the brewpub for $3 pints, and started out with this one. My first (and probably only) Pumpkin Ale of the season. Came out a deep dark orange, with a nice frothy cap. The nose is sweet with pumkin spice, nutmeg, cinnamon - not surprising. Slick feel. Sweet pumpkin, that isnít as artificial-tasting as I remember. The pumpkin is also a little more subtle, but in its place there is an overwhelming spice profile, that isnít all that refreshing. All-in-all though, itís not a bad autumn drink, but I couldnít see myself having any more than 1 of these at a time, or even more than 1 in a season for that matter.

Overwhelming spice and underwhelming pumpkin. Might have been more tolerable a bit warmer on a cool fall evening- just doesnít taste like spring. Pours a decent copper color with a small head (actually looked great). Nose is all spice. Too much nutmeg and a bit sharp with the ginger. A bit of an unpleasant sweetness as well. I prefer to have beer with a slice of pumpkin pie- rather than the two -in-one package as offered here.

Ugly BMC-esque gold pour w/zero heard or lace. Smells ok, some spices, pumpkins in the background. Tastes off. A kiss of tartness (wtf?!) then turns watery. Julie nailed it: tastes like a pumpkin Kolsch.

Wtf Foothills, I expect better from you guys.

Bottle. Nice fall color, orange-amber, with a thin head. The pumpkin aroma gets to the olfactory glands as soon as the capís off the bottle. The beer drinks with a nice balanced delivery of some gourd, cinnamon and spice. Decent. (#5322, 11/10/2013)

Tap. Amber with small head. Light, thin body, but spicing is well done with a lot of clove.

Copper pour with creamy white head. Aroma is pumpkin pie/nutmeg. Flavor of nutmeg, clove, coriander with a floral bitter finish. Light medium bodied with good carbonation. nice beer

Pours a clear, muted orange with hardly any head. The aroma is bright and sweet. Lots of nutmeg and pumpkin. Itís all vaguely synthetic smelling, but it doesnít smell bad at all. Kiinda like a pumpkin scented candle. The flavor is rich and slightly sweet. More of that pumpkin flavor that seems artificial but not unpleasant. I wonít have another one, but I didnít mind this.

Pumpkin and spice are the primary aromas. Pours a clear amber with a thin lasting white head and no lacing. The tastes is spice dominate. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice with hints of pumpkin. Medium-light body with crisp carbonation. Overall, ok but I have had more balanced pumpkin ales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: Pumpkin is a little obscured by nutmeg, ginger and clove, but the spices are very pleasant. Appearance: Still copper body with a ring of bone coloured head. Flavor: Really quite gingery and sharp; flavors seem at war instead of in harmony. The ginger wins. Palate: Light body, slick texture, flat carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: An uneven showing. Thanks to my friend Robert for bring a bottle back from his travels.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of overripe pumpkin and spice. Cider colored, flat. Decent pumpkin flavor with nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar. Quite under carbonated. Good flavor but may have been old

12 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market, Elizabeth City, NC. Pours yellowish-orange with a quick white head. Roasted pumpkin with light pumpkin pie spices on the nose. Good pumpkin flavor with muted cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and allspice. Finishes clean with only traces of the spices clinging to the palate. One of the better pumpkin beers I have tried.
