22 ounce from Weinhaus in Asheville. Malty with some pine and resin. Sweet body and finish. Nice, but maltier than I’d want.

Bottle. Pour is light copper with a medium white head. Aroma is lighter hop with cookie malt dominating the aroma. Hop notes are light pine and floral with a very faint spice hint. Not too complex but solid. Definitely on the maltier side.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.5 A: Super clear light orange color. Two fingers of creamy white head. Retention is slightly below average and just a touch of lacing is left behind. 3.5 S: Hops are foremost piney with floral and citrus complementing. Fair amount of caramel on the malt front. Not particularly strong, but pleasant. 3.5 T: Follows the nose for the most part. Light to moderate bitterness. Piney hops with grapefruit and orange. Slightly earthy as well. Malts are earthy and a bit "hamster-y." Again, caramel sticks out. Toward the dry end, but enough malt to keep it interesting. Refreshing. 3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Smooth and slightly creamy, but could be more so. 3.5 D: This is a pretty "standard" IPA. It’s good, but tastes like so many others that it doesn’t have much of an identity. Still worth drinking though. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 05-21-2011 20:25:25

Pours amber with a white head. Smells resiny with some sweet citrus undertones and spicy hints. Tastes of caramel, some citrus, resiny, with a semi sweet finish.

This starts with a nice strong blast of pine and citrus. It pours a clear amber, with a two finger white head. A bit heavy with the Simcoe, but a good blast of hop flavors, there is very little malt noticeable in this one. Nice long bitter finish. This is a good solid IPA, but they could back off some of the Simcoe a bit.

Draft at Asheville Brewing. Orange with a thin off white head. Scent is caramel, grass and citrus. Taste is same with some bready notes. So nice I grabbed a bomber to compare.

22 oz. bottle from JCB- thanks again, Jason! Opened the night before DLD at the hotel. Pours a mostly clear amber-orange color with a cm-thick white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, tangerine, pineapple, caramel malts, and pine. Flavor of citrusy and floral hops, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, caramel malts, pine resin, and honey. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a smooth, juicy mouthfeel. In fact, this is really smooth and drinkable. The bitterness is really well balanced by all the fruit. Great IPA.
