4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Great palate. A beautiful balance of bitter hops and sweet citrus. Great light amber/orange color. ALC: 6.25% IBU: 78 SRM: 7.1
This is not my favorite beer ever, but definitely my favorite brewery! Definitely recommend trying Jade IPA, also by Foothills.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark yellow to light amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain, cookie), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit, orange, apricot).
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium to full body, syrupy/watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
This is a pretty ballsy example...juicy/fruity in the nose, and quite sweet in the mouth (although the combo of citric acidity and brash bitterness balance it, itís a bit too aggressive in total for my tastes). Almost drinks more like a DIPA.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This IPA is smooth and doesn't bite back. It pairs well with the neighboring North Carolina barbecue. I would have liked a sharper taste, but it was worth a taste.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Rucker Johns in Emerald Isle, NC served in a pint glass. Clear coppery-orange color with off-white head. Aroma notes of pine/citrus hops and caramel malt backing. Taste punches a little harder than the aroma, grapefruity/floral hop bitterness, some resin and light tropical notes. Medium-light body, moderate-low carbonation, dry with some lingering citrus finish. A nice solid IPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A new rake courtesy of the AA admirals club in CLT. Right out of the bottle cuz the membership does not pay for glassware. Nose as some pine and citrus. Taste has toast, caramel, pine, and solid bitterness. Bitterness lingers in the long and dry finish. This has a fuller body than many of the style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle split with my father-in-law on his 60th. Orangish pour, creamy beige head. Too much crystal malt sweetness, grassy hops with some mild grapefruit to back it up. A bit dull. I donít know, maltier IPAs just arenít my thing.

Old rating. Pretty solid piney IPA. Orange colored. Big pine and resin hops. Solid malt body. Good.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Full blown orange pour with a nice white head and solid lacing. Lovely looking. Aroma was decent and of oranges and grapefruits. Flavor followed with some solid resinous bitterness under it all and some spicing. Mouthfeel was moderate to fill and amply carbonated. Nice job foothills. Oh, and did you know that in TN if you think you donít need the plastic bag when departing the liquor store, the clerk will let ya know you do? Apparently an open top six pack must be in the bag. So much for the hippie green side of me.
