Thanks to a friend at Home Brew Talk for sending me this in exchange for some Westy 12. Enjoyed in a tulip at fridge temp.
A - Bronze with a finger head fading fast and leaving behind a nice lacing. Great clarity.
S - Heavy simcoe aroma. Lots of pine cones, resin and hint of grapefruit juice.
T - Interesting taste. Closer to an English ESB than an IPA. Malty with a lot of caramel and sweet brown sugar. Hopped and not overly bitter.
M - Medium body, Nice carbonation balance.
O - The finish is a little too boring malty but overall a drinkable beer.

Cloudy straw color, small off white head. Aroma is floral and a bit fruity. Taste has a strong tropical fruit character but finishes with this strange tart sweetness that kind of ruins the beer for me.

Tap at the CLT airport. Solid IPA. Big aroma of citrus and flowers. More of the same on taste. Pours a pale clear orange with a small spotty head, and it finishes pretty sharp.

Bottle thanks to Barleypops! Clear dark orange pour with a few floaties, a little carbonation and an aroma of bitter herbal hops. Huge malty backbone to stand up to really nice strong medicinal herbal hops with left a nice dry aftertaste. Solid bomber and well priced. Thanks Duane!

Pours a nice amber/bronze in color with ample head. Aroma is bouqyet of sharp floral and citrus , I get peach and grapefruit in particular. Taste has a very nice baseline bitterness, almost to the point of puckering, with a sweetness which peaks midway through the sip. Palate is surprisingly light with a fading finish. Good carbonation. Overall one of the best I’ve had in the style. Were it available in my area it would be a regular for me.

I feel that this is a very average IPA. The smell is nice but there’s not a whole lot of complexity to the flavor. Would probably not pass up other, untried IPAs for this one if the selection was there.

Growler from Riverside in Chattanooga $9. Dark orange color, oily head, decent lace. The smell was malts at first and then as it warmed it really gave off a strong aroma of peaches. The flavor was resinous with a chewy maltiness if that makes any sense. The hops were more prominent in the aroma but this was quite a good IPA and I’m very critical of the style since it is my favorite. Nice beer.

Tasty, but could be better balanced, hop bomb may be strong, but hop bullet is about right

On tap at Olive or Twist in Asheville. Hop and ocean aroma. Dark honey color, no real head. Big hops in flavor mostly floral, pine with some resin. There is some malt here, but not enough to back up the hops. Also pepper and spice notes. Not bad.
