4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 byrumj (16) - South Carolina, USA - APR 24, 2012The Simcoe shines here. A very well balanced IPA with some malts and citrus to balance out the finishing hops punch. Nice orange color and it smells on target for a citrus laced IPA. Well done.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ratman197 (7763) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Bottle courtesy of Doodler (thanks Scott!) poured a clkear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, grapefruit zest, pine and kind bud. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, pine, grapefruit zest and light orange zest with a crisp dry bitter lingering citrus finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Gachupines (642) - USA - JUN 7, 2013
Amber appearance with a thin white head. Aroma is pine hops, fairly assertive. Flavor is strong pine hops a little resinous. Nice and sticky, but not overly so. Good solid IPA.

Hop = yum. Quite hopped up and very drinkable. Seemed to go well with some grilled chicken and a sunny Carolina Saturday. 6.3% ABV

It was a very strong aroma, but decent. It has a nice deep golden bronze color. Very favorable citrus taste.

Nice IPA. The Aroma is malty sweet with a hint of citrus. The flavor has the malt up front with the hops following. Nice bitter finish and very dry.

Picked up one of these yesterday at the Frisco Sandwich Shop in Frisco, NC while on vacation. I can’t give a description of the appearance since it was consumed out of a bottle and describing the taste (didn’t take notes) won’t be easy but I recall nice pine notes in both the aroma and taste. There was also a mild sweetness. Overall this beer was much better than I expected and better than your run of the mill IPA. If I get a chance to pick up another this week I will update this review but it was decent.

Orance/amber pour w/ small white head. Sweet fruitiness like pear and pineapple along with resinous pine. Med carb - crisp and smooth mouth. Tastes of caramel and fruit w/ a strong pine hop finish. Nice balance w/ some grapefruit in the finish. Very nice IPA w/ great balance.

Found this in the Charlotte airport. Nice brew. Pale orange in color. Nice mouth feel. Decent floral aroma. Quite hoppy. A bit too astringent for me. The bitterness also takes over on the end. It’s a really good but not mind blowing IPA.

Bought from Charleston Beer Exchange. Caramel color. Nice and hoppy with a very smooth light finish. Enjoyed!

hoppy, astrigent and super dry. IBU 70. Had on tap at dajio in Ocracoke- best (and most local) choice on tap. Pours a perfect orange colour with a thin head. Nose is grapefruit and citrus- enough to make your nose tickle. Hops are the west coast C’s that never get old- more citrus, less pine. good finish- good when colder, starts to be a bit much on its own or when it warms to room temp. guess I should have consumed faster. really solid IPA. foothills is quickly becoming my favorite NC brewery- between people’s porter and this offering.
