3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I liked this, an above average hefe for sure. Of course no one is reading my ratings with any regularity, but as I’ve said time and time again they all look and taste almost the exact same with minimal differences from good to bad (at least brewpubs in America).
This one was slightly above average across the board in my opinion.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Cloudy whitish yellow with almost no lasting head. Citrus bubblegum and slight coriander. Smooth but light wheat body and more citrus and banana/clove yeasty funk. Light spicy dry finish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On draft at the brewery. Pours a cloudy mustard color with small ring of slightly off-white head. Aroma has a yeasty funk and some sulfer nose. The flavor lost the sulfer qualities and gave way to banana, pepper, clove and lemon. A little astringent with a medium body. Ever-so-slightly better than your average hef.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The commercial description is dead on. Pours a cloudy gold and has a very nice aroma of banana etc. The banana came through more than the clove, vanilla, bubblegum, and tapioca. Flavor was again more banana than the others. This was not my favorite, but I am not much of a Hefeweizen fan to begin with.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap. Not sure if I got a bad tap or what but I noticed lots of grass in the aroma. Also noticed some wheat and some light yeasts. Really did not enjoy this one from a usually very good brewer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Perfectly acceptable hefeweizen, although nothing that really rocked my socks off. I don’t know about the tapicoa nose... must have missed that.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 Draft at Flying Saucer. Slightly hazy, dark yellow color. Very minimal head but large carbonation bubbles stayed in the beer the whole way down. Grainy aroma with some lemons and bananas. Taste is sharp and clean with a blend of bananas, lemon, and a bit of spice. None of the flavors are very powerful, so it’s somewhat watery, but for a light summer beer, this goes down smooth, finishes cleanly, and is quite refreshing.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at WBF in Raleigh. A solid Hefe. Pale hazy bright golden pour with generous head. Wheat, lemon, a little creaminiess on the nose. Not overspiced. Solid. Don’t usually give shout-outs to labels, but this is a really great label.
