wilkie (1092), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Apr 4, 2008 Draught at Brewpub in WS. Cloudy orange, with small, white head. Aroma is strong banana with some clove. Flavor is similar, and typical of a hefe. Good example of style, but not too extraordinary.
KUEric (578), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Oct 13, 2008 I liked this, an above average hefe for sure. Of course no one is reading my ratings with any regularity, but as I’ve said time and time again they all look and taste almost the exact same with minimal differences from good to bad (at least brewpubs in America).
This one was slightly above average across the board in my opinion. lithy (247), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 13, 2008 Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Cloudy whitish yellow with almost no lasting head. Citrus bubblegum and slight coriander. Smooth but light wheat body and more citrus and banana/clove yeasty funk. Light spicy dry finish. Butters (427), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee, USA Aug 10, 2008 On draft at the brewery. Pours a cloudy mustard color with small ring of slightly off-white head. Aroma has a yeasty funk and some sulfer nose. The flavor lost the sulfer qualities and gave way to banana, pepper, clove and lemon. A little astringent with a medium body. Ever-so-slightly better than your average hef. maugus4ever (49), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Aug 1, 2008 The commercial description is dead on. Pours a cloudy gold and has a very nice aroma of banana etc. The banana came through more than the clove, vanilla, bubblegum, and tapioca. Flavor was again more banana than the others. This was not my favorite, but I am not much of a Hefeweizen fan to begin with. mhelgason (447), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jun 30, 2008 On tap. Not sure if I got a bad tap or what but I noticed lots of grass in the aroma. Also noticed some wheat and some light yeasts. Really did not enjoy this one from a usually very good brewer.
