4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft. Pours a hazy paler gold with a thin eggshell head that leaves a killer wall of lace. Nose is a pungent hop garden: big pine and tropical fruit, lilac, citrus, with some biscuity malt and doughy yeast. Fairly sweet, but hugely bitter. Lighter side of medium bodied, oily, crisp, with a huge hoppy bitter finish. Amazing, seems extremely fresh with those huge hop notes. Reminds me of Shorts Huma Lupa Licious, but with an added hop dimension Iím guessing is from the Jade. Awesome flavor.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
An awesome IPA. Have a had on draft (at the brewery and at other bars). Appearance is golden hazy, perhaps itís unfiltered. Citrus, pine, and lemon on the nose. Super fresh and hoppy. Similar to a Bells Two Hearted (I think they do use some Centennial hops in this one in addition to the Jade hops), but not as orangey sweet. One of the more unique tasting IPAís instead of the standard Cascade/Centennial variety. At 7.4%, you do not taste any alcohol at all. Very crisp, refreshing, and easy drinking.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I enjoyed a pint of this beer at the brewpub in Winston-Salem. The beer had a light copper-amber color, and was somewhat clear, with a big foamy white head that had average retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma featured a mixture of big notes of citrus, pine, grass, and some spices. The taste was dominated by a citrus and grassy bitterness, with lighter pine and spice notes. It had an average-density body and was fairly dry with a touch of creaminess and modest carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft - pour gold with white head and great lacing. Nose is citrus and pine, bordering on cat urine. Flavor adds citrus peel. Quite refreshing. Bitter. Thin to medium body. Light for such a strong beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Comes out of the tap an appetizing, slightly hazy golden with a decent off-white head. Strong aroma is very hoppy, more evergreen than woody. Richly hoppy flavor has a firm resiny tone and hints of malt and honey. Firm, lively texture leaves a hoppy and only slightly bitter finish. You wonít be jaded after this one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Had on tap.
Pours a hazy medium orange with no head to speak of. A small amount of lacing but nothing impressive.
Very tropica citrus aroma with a hefty amount of bread as well. There is a nice floral aroma mixing in too. Very inviting and quite nice.
Lots of mango and grapefruit in the taste with more bread and biscuit. Huge deptht to the hops in this one with a very strong malt backbone for balance. Very high bitterness that leads to a dry finish that is pleasant on a beer of this strength as opposed to sweetness that is all to often present in these types of beers.
Overall, a very nice job by Foothills and a beer that I wish was more widely available.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the new Matthew Beer Temple. Tropical fruit notes, hint of peppery finish, good lacing... another solid IPA from Foothills.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Thirsty Monk. Gold color, with a small, off-white head. The aroma is brilliant citrus and floral hops. There is probably a good malt profile there somewhere, but I was too busy reveling in the hops. The flavor is very mellow, and surprisingly well balanced. Medium body, crisp, and clean. Overall, this is a very nice IPA. Very impressed.

On tap at Brewery, Cloudy and a dull golden color, some lacing and a modest head. quite dry for what was touted as a west coast style.
