12/7/2013. On tap. Amber color with a white head. Floral aromas with citrus, pine, malt and caramel. Good bitter flavors with caramel and floral notes. Plenty of hops on the finish.

on tap @ Universal Joint / Asheville NC --- Clear, medium amber with a full robust head cover, streamers of lace. Taste is caramel malt that is joined early in the palate by sour grapefruit bittering. Hops carry everything to the finish, finally yielding to a little caramel before it all disappears. Really assertive, and really good. Highly recommended.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2013 Tap at Milltown. Hazy golden with a steady whispy white head. Nose is fresh orange and grapefruit, lightly resinous. Flavor is a bit more resin based--more grapefruit and lightly spicy herbal hops--some garlic and light onion. Quite dry, juicy and easily becoming one of my top iPa’s (not just in NC, but ever). I’ve probably had about 20-30 pints of this at the place I work in the last few months and I’m actually a little surprised how much this beer has grown on me. This has been my birthday wish for several years now--having a regularly available delicious and fresh ipa made in NC. Now, we have at least 2, maybe 3. Fuck yea. This beer is ***so*** inconsistent. I gotta take it down a few. All I get is soapy onion flavor in my last yen Pints.

Draught. Pours a clear amber color with almost no head on it. Nose is rather hoppy, just like a good IPA should be. Taste is bitter, and it feels clean and smooth. A really good IPA.

On tap, Barley’s, Asheville. Cloudy yellow, loose thin head. Big blast of citrus aromas right off the bat. Hints of wood and even a little bit of smoke in the background. Taste is lots of citrus - grapefruit and mango - plus some woody, piney notes in the finish. Really tasty.

Draft pour, looking a nice bright hazy yellow with a firm white head. Nose was huge citrus--lemon and grapefruit as well as tart orange with a spiciness that showed itself on the tongue. Some tropical notes. Hoppier than expected, in a wonderful way. Citrus, fruit, and pepper, all well balanced in a full-bodied IPA. I could drink so much of this.

On draught at Barley's Taproom in Asheville, this pours golden with a soapy head and lacing. The nose is a huge wallop of pine trees. Flavors are similar, bold piney bitters, naked breakfast grapefruit, zest/peel/rind accents, and finish with lingering resinous pine bitters. Medium-bodied, complex and a very smooth quaff with semi-active carbonation. Very nice offering here! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly hazy body is covered by a durable head. Appealing aroma. Hop dominant aroma with faint malt base. Plenty of herbal/weedy/grassy hop flavor. Long lasting hoppy aftertaste. Mild to moderate bitterness. O: excellent

16oz pint at Big Hunt. Hazy orange with some creamy, lacing white head. Nose is very nice, very fruity, passion fruit, star fruit, pungent too, grapefruit pulp, some garlic scape. Flavor is punchy with green garlic, lemon, a little aloe vera, orange peel, mild honey. Zippy finish. Really nice.

Pint on tap. Cloudy golden pear color with a lasting film of creamy bubbles. Nose is flower pollen, resin and citrus. Tastes of pineapple, resin, mango, vanilla honey, minty green herb and light toast. Light-medium body is balanced with a big dry finish, has a bit too much fizz for me but is still easily gulped.
