Stopped by the brewpub for $3 pints, and decided on this one among others. Came out a clear, pale orange with just a thin sheet of lace on top. The nose is a bounty of citrus, green veggies, grass. An earthy beer for sure. Clean slick feel moderately carbonated. This may be a session beer as far as ABV goes, but what it lacks there, it makes up for in flavor. A massive amount of hops are crammed into this "little" beer. Potent spicy hops give this beer some character. The finish is short though which keeps me sipping, and before I knew it, this one was gone. This beer isn’t what I expected, but it’s a tasty little session beer that doesn’t compromise on flavor. A surprising one that I would recommend.

On tap at Mimosa in downtown Charlotte. Pours a golden yellow with a near white foamy head. Aroma of citrus and piney hops. Taste is standard IPA. Good but nondescript. A good alternative to a Coors, Bud or Miller Lite If you are out.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Beer 50 Asheville trip! Pale golden orange. Aroma is purely bitter earthy hops. Flavor is very, very lightly caramel malts, then utterly obliterated by earthy and piney hop bitterness. I really, really like the idea behind this beer, but the hop bitterness was just too far over the top for the low gravity character here. Well worth tinkering around with though, I hope they keep trying to refine this one. Wish more brewpubs would do low alcohol but flavorful beers. Bring me a great mild!

Draft at the source. Hazy pale yellow white, thick white head. Savannah, sitting next to me, says this one is "dang hoppy." I’ve never said dang out loud, but I agree with her. Tasty enough.

Growler... Lightly-hazed light yellow ale with a small, short-lived, fizzy, white head. The aroma offers passionfruit, grapefruit and funky, pissy hops. Light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. The flavor is a perfectly-balanced merger of restrained grapefruit bitterness, mild cracker malt and light lemon acidity. Crisp, grassy finish. I could drink this all day, every day without getting totally trashed. Impressive. Kudos to Elliesbrown for sending this growler my way!

Body: body is a little thin but quite acceptable to get a 3.5% ipa with this much aroma and flavor
Flavor: dry and bitter flavor, dry pale malt, lots of hops, plenty of bitterness
Overall: one of the best in the session ipa category
Aroma: 7/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 15/20

Awesome piney aroma. Yellow with no head. Very flat on the palate but fun piney bitterness. Interesting take on the low alcahol style
